I remember an older video of lennox lewis, sugar ray leonard and winky wright all saying pacquiao was their favorite current fighter.

    That was pre-hatton cotto clottey.

Floyd is an entertainer something you rarely see among boxers today.

    - I agree that Floyd got away with murder in the Hatton fight, so many times he was using that forearm illegally, but to be honest I don't see anything wrong with a bit of rough-house tactics. If the ref lets you away with it, then that's his problem, keep doing it would be my attitude. I think Hatton was probably Floyd's most complete performance, because Hatton actually threw punches and tried to win, unlike Corrales. No matter what referee had been in the ring that night and no matter how he refereed the fight, Floyd would have outclassed and stopped Ricky. He was just far, far too good.

    - I don't care what Floyd's personality is like outside the ring. I don't know him, nor will I. Boring.

    - The Marquez fight was a pointless mismatch from day one. It meant nothing, it proved nothing. I'd say the same if Pacquiao outpointed Humberto Soto or if Mosley outpointed Nate Campbell. But I agree with Graham that one of Floyd's main strengths is his conditioning and fitness. He always comes in supreme physical condition, and I don't recall ever seeing him especially fatigued.

Doesn't mean he will beat him, but mayweather's fans are the kings of potentials and what if's.

Mayweather did not impress in a lot of fights.
He couldn't get rid of baldomir, he could only SD oscar, he got a gift against castillo and didn't even have the dignity to knock out a blown up LW.

While some of his wins are impressive they are nonetheless not as impressive as his skill level. With his skill and talent there should be no debate of his standing in this generation - but there are. Basically, his talents are underused. Like I said, his skill and talent is top 15 material, if not top 10. His resume? Top 50, a case can be made to be even less than that. This is why I concede and put him in my 35-40 range - giving him small credit for theoretical matchups (like he probably would have beaten SSM and Pac at 135).

Sorry for the obvious comparison, but Pac is the exact opposite. While Pac's natural talent (speed and power) is as good if not better than PBF's, his technical skill is nowhere near it (yet a bit underrated by his critics). Pac's natural abilities is probably top 10-15, but his technical skills is at best is not even worth mentioning. But he has maximized the use of it, which in turn has placed him higher in my ATG list than PBF.

How will Mosley win improve his resume? In my opinion pretty well. But not as good as the Castillo or Corrales wins. Honestly, he waited a bit too long to face Mosley. Not to say Mosley is not elite now, he is, but can you imagine defeating Mosley at 135 days? That would be no doubt his greatest win.

Even if we all agree that he would have won versus Cotto or Margarito, the reality is the fight never happened and we can only give him a small credit, if any, for all these theoretical fights.
