Just watched Rentaro Kimura's debut match. He landed a full power straight left to his opponents groin, Klinchkod his opponent every time he got inside, and just roughed him up and man handled him the whole match. Don't get me wrong, he's very very good, but I haven't seen a Japanese boxer being that dirty. If he's this dirty in his debut then he's going to be even dirtier when he's champion.
Depends on who he has behind him, and where he fights his big fights. As a Japanese guy, it's unlikely he can pull a Ward and get away with it in the US or other big boxing countries.
Wow, I hope that win was overturned. I know Ward leads with his head but Koseki is far worse in my opinion. She actually lands full power headbutts intended to KO an opponent, not just to cut an opponent which was always the result from Ward or Holyfield's headbutts. It was the second headbut that got the knockout not the feeble right hook that landed after.
Hopkins never changed. He just eased up a bit. Dawson still got a taste of the real Hopkins. Poor Murat got it even worse.
Result stood, a rematch was ordered but the Thai lady lost an interim bout. Koseki would then go on to set the Japanese record for most successful defenses, and unify the two major Atomweight titles. Kimura isn't even close to the dirtiest in Japan. A low blow and abit of roughing up isn't anything. Here's Yamato Mitani roughing someone up big time This content is protected
I like Kimura debut, he showed some spite, brutal finish, and composure. A lot of work to do but a lot of talent. He not dirty really... Maybe... Crafty
Kimura fought again earlier today. Was... Wow. Seriously if you get the time it was Loma-esque again a guy who sported ribs of rock
