They really didn't look that low to me. The worst were borderline. If the ref had given a warning and a time out, I could have lived with that. But there was never not going to be controversy in this series unless it ended like JMM vs Pac4 and even then, the *******s still wanna' argue about it to this very day, so...

kovalev should have had a point deducted you are not supposed to bend below the waist, he was clearly doubled over bent below the waist.

 

I've never in all my years scene a ref stop a fight with a fighter doubled over and holding their nuts.

I've seen fighters go down, holding their nuts, and be counted, but to run in while they are doubled over and holding their nuts...never.

 

Then so should have Ward...as his regular move is to bend below the waist when touched by a jab.
