His balls are nowhere near that punch. You really think Kovalev had any chance to recover and win? C'mon man.
Ward was tired too. Yea he had that big round in the 8th for sure. But to end the fight like that? Doc Andre a point for that low blow sequence and give the man his time to recover. There were 4 rounds left and Sergey still had a chance for sure. What pains me is not so much the ending of this fight. But what happens after the fight. Kov career is effectively over.
You didn't answer the question. Let's imagine no lowblow took place, who do you think was going to go on and win that fight? Kovalevs career is far from over. Big money fights still available.
One judge had it 5-2 Kov. The others had it by 1 point. Ward was getting tired too. It was a damn good fight so it was any mans fight
Quick point to remember guys, if Ward gets a point deduction like he should. The fight is level on 2 cards and Kovalev is up by 4 on another. Far from over.....
how could he just fall apart? maybe the big right hand that rattled him into a stanky leg had something to do with it ?. that right hand started it all and kova was allready on his way out
that was the last punch i nthe fight.. kovalev was well an truly out of it by that point imho and i initially thought was punch was blatantly low but your replay actually shows its pretty much on the border of the belt, slightly low at best
Whether Kovalev was 'done' or not is completely irrelevant. When it comes to judging whether something is a low blow(s) it is decided on the isolated incident of the punch, not what happened before or after it, who was winning the fight, what wouldn't have happened if the foul was called. For the sake of the integrity of the sport we can all agree that we want the rules upheld and as little controversy as possible. The last punch landed that caused Kovalev to 'go down' was low. If the rules had been applied fairly then the fight would not have been stopped (TKO) and Kovalev would have been given five minutes. Would it have made a difference? Who knows. In my opinion probably not, BUT, that would have been the correct application of the rules.
Just saw the slo mo of the final low blow, man that was really low and the ref looking right at it, totally ridiculous and i cant insert it into this post, search for it, its bad
