No it's not; it's a somewhat promising newcomer who just got brutally knocked out against a guy who should be fighting top contenders.

The fact that they both look like bodybuilders, or wanting to see a one sided beating for the sake of a one sided beating, are the only reasons I can see anybody wanting to see this.


It's just another wasted MMA fight for Ubereem; he just got done fighting the K1 GP and obviously isn't going to be able to get a full camp in for MMA, so I can understand why he isn't taking a top level fight I guess.

 

Its not really a "wasted" fight if the alternative was Overeem not fighting at all is it?

Coming on short notice 3 weeks after a GP it was unlikely Overeem or any possible big name opposition would take a massive fight.

Duffee is as you say an unknown at this stage, he showed weaknesses agenst Russow but still has the potential to be top 10 aswell as the potential to get KTFO repeatly. Style wise I don';t see this as a great fight for him though, I suspect that if he is sucessful in the future its likely to be vs grapplers with his takedown defence and power will count but lack of defence/chin will be less of an issue.

 

Ubereem's going to welcome Duffee into the new year with a trip to lala land. Huge props to Duffee for having the balls for this. Gets KTFO in ultra humiliating fashion, he's now showing us he's got a ton of guts if not a chin. Waaaaaaaaaaar Duffee!!!!!!!!

 

Well the better alternative in terms of him having a meaningful MMA fight would be to not fight on NYE, get a camp in, and then fight.

 

Dude's backed into a corner with no options because of his falling out with the UFC. He's come out and said that he's flat broke repeatedly. I'd say that this is more about being desperate than "having balls."

Hopefully, he'll actually get paid. We all know that FEG has been having issues lately.

Lol no he doesnt. He couldnt put that fat journeyman away despite hitting him umpteen times. How's he going to put away Ubereem? Duffee's strength is his striking. And it's about a 10th the level of Reems. Theres no possible way Duffee can win this. He's getting knocked out. I just hope he gets paid a decent amount

 

this fight seems crazy. but duffee has power i guess so you never know.

 

MMA don't work like that. Duffee did beat Silva who's probably better than any of Overeem's victory at HW in MMA.

He can win this. Overeem's will has been broke before.

I love Overeem but Duffee isn't a great opponent. If it was Velasquez fighting Duffee on a UFC card the same people saying the Overeem fight is good would be slating it.

Still, it'll be good to see 'Reem destroying that meathead.
