I still think the fight is a great fight but to be fair, even 2-3 years ago people were already saying Floyd shouldnt figth Mosley because he is too old. I said myself Pac shouldnt fight Mosley because he was too old and he already got enough crap for fighting 30yr old guys, yet alone guys nearing 40.

Here is what Floyd Snr had to say about it too:

On whether he believes Mosley is too old to face Floyd given his age and his long layoff:
“Shane Mosley is thirty-eight and he’s coming to fight Floyd too late. You know, he’s coming to fight Floyd too late. If he had a chance, maybe he should have done it a few years ago. Floyd challenged Shane Mosley when Shane Mosley was at his best pound for pound fighter at that time at 135 pounds. Floyd challenged him when little Floyd had just won the championship at 130, the junior lightweight champion. Shane was the lightweight champion but Floyd was the junior lightweight champion and we challenged Shane, and they denied us and they did not take the challenge. They did not take the challenge. Now, he’s fighting because it’s a must—have to fight, got to fight, need to fight. That’s why he’s fighting us now. He has to, he must.”

So even Floyd Snr thinks it may be too late.

This doesnt change the fact that Mosley is a top 3 WW outright though so a very good challenge! Its very hard and very rare that 2 elite fighters will meet in their prime...thats why we want Pac-PBF so much.

I didnt think floyd would fight shane, up until the pac fight fell through and betro pulled out, then I knew he had no other choice. I still believe he didnt want to fight shane, he didnt have any other options.

All floyd did for the longest was talk **** and give reasons why he doesnt want to fight shane, so why is it a surprise to anyone that most people didnt think he would take this fight?

Because as far back as November, Team Mayweather has been saying Mayweather would fight Shane if the Pac fight fell through.

Well team Mayweather said a lot of **** but everytime they asked Floyd about Mosley his response was always "Hes old,He has five losses,he isnt a draw, hes desperate,he took steroids etc" that to me and many others didnt look like a guy that was interested in fighting Shane.

After Floyd had broken off with Arum, his team made an offer to Shane and GBP. Shane declined the fight.

Oscar and Shaefer are on record about this. The link to the article has been posted many times.

So what if Mosley's old. He could still easily clean up apart from Pac and Floyd. He's the best outside the two, not clottey, not berto, not anyone else. BTW I would still take Floyd easily if they fought in their primes. Shane Mosley was never unstoppable; people talk about him in his prime as someone who Mayweather would have no chance against, yet in both their primes Floyd was always ahead of Shane Mosley.
