Thurman is less then a inch taller so the size isn't a huge issue IMO

Matthysee can but i gotta roll with Thurman on this one. Hes not gonna stand there and hes got hit Lucas with power from angles. Lucas doesnt move that much so Thurman has a better chance of a KO based on movement.

would still want to see it though

I'd rather see Thurman-Matthysse and I'm sure Dan Birmingham would too, LOL. Sure Matthysse can punch but he's always had problems with good jabs AND he'll be moving up so you don't really know if his power will translate. Collazo, on the other hand, is much more difficult to gameplan for.

Yea if it was Collazo for some reason i think its a more dangerus fight for Thurman

I would love to see Thurman/Matthysse, but I can't see Golden Boy doing this. They both have a lot of upside, Thurman at 147 and Matthysse at 140. More likely, Matthysse will stay at 140 for another couple of fights, try to get back where he was before the Garcia fight against the best of what's left at 140, and then move to 147.

It's almost certain Thurman will fight Collazo. And, if Collazo is still in the picture next year, may be Matthysse's debut opponent at 147.

Thurman vs Matthysse, as well as colazo are all internet speculation. I talked to Keith yesterday and the dude doesnt have a clue who hes getting, let alone if he's even fighting may 3... Guess we have to wait for that golden boy meeting to happen.

I would like to see Paulie Malignaggi as Keiths next opponent, there also was some beef some time ago between the two at a press conference iirc.
Anybody know if that is still being considered or is it completely out of the window?

If Golden Boy was like that then they would've never made Broner-Maidana, Canelo-Trout. They always make there fighters fight the best. If its Thurman-Matthysse then so be it

Collazo or Thurman are too big and skilled for Matthysse's come forward style, but Matthysse vs Chaves, Karass or Abregu would be interesting.

GBP had pretty serious reservations about both of those fights. Broner and Canelo insisted on those fights and used their market power to push for them. Matthysse isn't in the same position; he's more likely to do what GBP think is best for him, especially after Broner-Maidana seriously exposed Broner.

I'm not saying that GBP matches their fighters soft - they don't. But there are far more sensible fights out there for both Matthysse and Thurman. Collazo, for example, is no gimmie, but he's the underdog and an affordable loss for GBP.

For similar reasons, I can see Matthysse fighting Malignaggi next. Paulie is a VERY stern test, but GBP can absorb a Paulie loss with no real damage to themselves or Paulie's marketability.

    Should be a good card.

Pure speculation. Thurman-Lucas will NOT happen on that date.
