Haye's people have made an offer to Kevin Johnson for the Nov.15th card at the O-2 Arena in London card. Why doesn't it surprise me that Haye and his camp have apparently chosen a light hitting, questionably conditioned HW for his opponent in November? Khan you blame him?
What is he supposed to do? Wait until everybody else fights, the guy needs to fight somebody and time is running out, the Toneys of this world want to much money.
After all of the hype and diarrea of the mouth coming from Haye and this is the 'top-ranked' opponent he chooses?
Have they announced how much money they'll be wanting? Its not quite as simple as saying, they've offered their services is it.
From Toney to Peter to Chagaev to Valuev to Maskaev to Rahman and Kevin Johnson is being considered instead? :huh Didn't Toney openly state that he wants this fight and is ready for it more than anything?, didn't Rahman say the same?, why Johnson?
Nothing is confirmed and all he said was "he will be ranked top 10 by a governing body" Johnson is ranked #7 by the WBA.
Why Johnson? becuase he's inexperienced at the top level, light hitting, not in top condition and lazy in the ring, oh and he has a ranking.
Scar, come on buddy. Johnson is a MUCH bigger test than ****ing Hasim Rahman at this point. And that's not really even very complimentary of Johnson.
People seem to think boxing is as simple as "i'll fight you Haye" then if its not made Haye is "dodging" Nobody knows the money and terms these guys are demanding.
I know nothing about the guy so my question wasn't a possible "joke" or insult towards Haye(who I'm a fan of), just an open question. From the names mentioned only Toney and Rahman are available and were considered but all of a sudden dropped. Rahman might not be a major test but he will be a good "name" on his record at stage, especially when I believe he can win it. Johnson is an unknown and I honestly haven't see him fight, the only thing he brings here is an undefeated record as far as the public is concerned. Rahman at least will be a name opponent and a decent test as well.
I have seen Johnson fight on showbox. He is not a top rate Heavyweight at all and won't be. Most of all Haye is making sure is fighting someone with no power to protect his chin. Which Johnson has no power.
