At this point ther career's, what do Golota, Maskeav or Rahman have that Kevin Johnson doesn't? Johnson is an overweight, under-powered american heavyweight with a slow workrate, which makes him every bit as dangerous and those guys. Dont start saying that Rahman would be a better fight than this, because Rahman's shot to bits and looking for a payday. Golota's near enough 40, so are Toney, Briggs and Maskaev, at least Johnson's young and hungry. He's going to try and to make his name with a big performance here, unlike the other guy's who are shot to bits and in it for the money. So I'm happy with the choice of opponent. Haye starts out a little bit cautiously, not throwing a lot of punches, then opens up in the middle rounds and either; A) knocks out Johnson B) hurts Johnson and puts him in his shell for the rest of the fight, making him scared to attack C) Punches himself out and gets taken into hot water by Johnson late in the fight. I am putting my money on A or B taking place, but the possibility of C makes this an exciting fight.
I think Kevin Johnson is a bad fight for Haye...he is better off fighting Rahman. Maybe it's something I don't see rather that see but I think Kevin Johnson has future...I think he will go on to hold a title in the next year or two. He still needs about 3 or 4 more fights tho before he is truly ready...
i second that, i like hatton and want him to win but i dont think hes world class lol no jab......... to all you haye haters who would you like him to fight thats available.
That could be possible. Haye could surely see how quickly everyone abondoned Khan, like rats jumping off a sinking ship when he got KO'd. He probably knows what a laughing stock he will be if he gets KO'd by James Toney or Rahman after talking so much trash.
Oh yeah? Because Seldon was always a granite chinned world class guy right? Please. Seldon's claim to fame was being one of the weakest HW titleholders in History (barring of course, todays division) and taking a dive against Iron Mike. Still, this is a dissapointing opponent I have to say. Johnson is/was talented, but I think the weight and age have squandered that away.
As if that's ESPN or something...those guys still try to say Kevin McBride was " really a good fighter." ...Everybody wants too much money, that's why you negotiate. You start off apart and mutually come to an agreement. Haye knows this, but it's easier to not even negotiate and say the guy wants too much, if that fighter would win you walk away with an excuse instead of a loss. Toney would expose Haye and David knows it.
