Yeah, I think most of Rahman's "street fights" were those body punching contests. He mentioned those in interviews before.

They just posted one a couple weeks ago of Errol Spence engaged in one, and he's a reigning champ.

Speaking of Rahman, I still believe he has a somewhat underrated resume. The man accomplished quite a bit, nothing to sneeze at.

Nigel benn had loads of fights on the cobbles before taking up kick boxing. Randolph Turpin used to go round Leamington spar at weekends fighting the local thugs but that was after he had retired!.The rock had a lot of fights as a teen and flattened an Australian soldier in a Cardiff pub during WW2.Brian London reportedly had a fight down Cardiff docks whilst he was British champ and lost!

 

Not denying that but he had a rep of beating full grown men as well when he was still 14. I never said he was a choirboy. Nor was I a fan

No it was not, tell me of these tales of street fighting before boxing.

 

Knocked out a bloke who'd killed one of his pigeons for one. I think it's a really, really safe bet that someone who grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant in the 70s and 80s, ended up in reform school and was hard enough to be the youngest ever heavyweight champion had to have a few street fights. He didn't go to reform school for tax fraud.

Are you going to ask for evidence to support the other 17 names suggested on the thread or just Tyson? Otherwise it looks like you might have a bit of an agenda against Mike.

 

What bloke was that then? Was he knocked spark out then? So a little scuffle with one kid makes Tyson a notorious street fighter does it? Well seeing as though I'm a massive fan of Tyson I think it's fair I clean up all the tripe surrounding him.
