Requirements for a fight with Andre Ward: 1) There can be no PED testing (no OST, no VADA) - Kessler and Abraham wanted OST testing, Ward said "NO" during negotiations for Abraham and Kessler fights. Rodriguez wanted VADA testing, Ward said "NO" 2) Fight must be at 168 - Regardless of whether you're a light heavyweight, supermiddleweight or middleweight. Dawson asked for 170, Ward insisted on 168. 3) Fight must be in in California - Ward has never fought a contender outside of the USA and only once as a pro has fought a live opponent outside California. 4) Referee should be from California - maybe in certain cases a shady foreign referee or a nationalistic American referee like Steve Smoger would let Ward foul (hit while holding, hit off the break and deliberately head butt) but Andre Ward feels more secure with a California Boxing Commission referee
I do not understand why do so many people hate Ward so much? He was uproven in that super six tornament and pretty much dominiated all those veterans (Abraham Kessler Froch etc) all they can say is he fights in California yea but he clearly beat all those guys without any home town cooking WTF I can see if its was like Bute Andrade 1
Ward destroyed Froch 1500 miles from his home town. Fact. Ward is a home town fighter who only fights in Oakland. Opinion. ^ Only one of these is correct.
im not sure how you guys can critisize ward... after what he did in the super 6 tourny.. he faced kessler who was pretty much the fav to take it out and he beat him convincingly .. matter of fact he beat almost everyone convincingly the testing issues have made me a little dissopointed in him, he seems like a good guy and anyone who has issues with testing i really start to worry about
pretty much this.. if your the p4p number 2 and number one guy in your division THE FIGHTS COME TO YOU!. especially if your an american where boxing generates the most money. if you won your title fair and square (and andre ward has never gotten a gift) then he has every right to fight where he wants to...the day he gets a gift from a local judge i will jump the fence and criticize him as much as you all are now but until that day his the next p4p king after floyd
When has Ward ever said he had issues with testing? Rodriguez tried to push the issue after the fight was signed. You can't do business that way.
According to who? You can't sign a contract and then ask a guy to be tested. And the last time I checked the V in VADA stood for voluntary.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIzlVF2F-Aw yer your right sorry, i thought the contract was not signed before this became an issue im sure his next opponent will ask for it in the contract (if for nothing else but to try and gain a mental edge) and im sure he will prob step up
