Cotto won 3 possibly 4 rounds, the "confusion" between competitive and close is the issue. Many rounds were competitive, but clearly Floyd rounds...which makes the fight feel and even appear closer than the 10 point must system will indicate. I agree it was competitive but disagree that it was "close". Floyd won clearly, and anyone not borderline ******ed can see that.

 

Who isn't counting body shots? The "body shots" you're referencing were landing on Floyds forearm and elbows...you're embarrassing yourself with this nonsense. "Never go full ******".

 

Yes, he just clearly beat one of the top p4p fighters in the world, a future HOF fighter putting in the performance of his life... if he wasn`t in his prime he would have lost that fight last night, Cotto fought out of his skin.

He was also landing beautiful jabs and shots. There is a reason Floyd was fighting of the ropes more than usual. Even when they were standing in the middle of the ring were everyone believe Cotto was going to be outclass. Cotto was able to hold his own and made Floyd smile many times as he got caught with Cotto shots. Once again punchstat and HBO commentators were off.

 

You have to be half ******ed to give Cotto more than 4 rounds, I had to stretch it to give him four after rewatching it.

When Gander Tasco is saying the fight was way closer than the official scoreline yet is a 1 round swing away from scoring the fight 117-111, it makes you wonder what the point of this thread is.

For me it was a competitive fight that Mayweather won clearly, not DOMINANTLY, but clearly.
