Could some of you guys educate me on this and give me some training ideas? From what I understand it's the same concept as downhill running, seen some of scrap's fighters doing it in some videos. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJnVAJoUrL0[/ame]
*Because I'm fighting Ylem this summer and I kind of want to improve my handspeed because he's a beast.
I've been out of the gym for over 8 months lol. Trying like hell to get some money so I can start going to my old gym but until then I'm afraid I'm gonna have to be a garage boxer :scaredas: Which is why I feel absolutely no shame about calling out other garage boxers. I don't even care. If he dies, he dies. :ko
Ahwell, hes been out a gym for all his life so i'd say you have the edge. Ask ylem to teach you the way of the garage boxer
:rofl Haha turns out he has an injury which prevents him from fighting until he gets it taken care of, so word is next summer maybe we'll do some sparring. Hopefully by then I'll be open class so we probably won't ever have an official fight :| But yeah, resistance band speed training....anyone want to fill me in on this? I've never done it before but it looks like a really good idea.
Nah not like that. I have to find scrap's video but it looked like the guy had the bands attached to the ringpost, then backed up across the ring and shadowboxed so the bands were pulling his arms to go faster rather than providing resistance. Is there any other stuff you can do like that, or any special technique to it?
If he actually grows some testicals and spars you, can you record it? I'd love to see his face after you land the first solid punch. Hilarious.
Wasn't it his idea initially to have a match with you? Now you've called his bluff he's backed out till next summer. I like how he outright refuses to have a match with you till next summer because of dental issues but he would happily spar with you. WTF?
Nah to be fair he was only asking for sparring, fighting was my idea. Makes sense if he is indeed injured, but part of me suspects some Davide Haye type ducking is going on here... :bart I felt like my terms were more than generous...
Well his thing is that in a match if he starts getting that pain then he's ****ed and getting stopped and/or taking a beating and it'd be a pretty shitty way to lose. In sparring he could just be like alright sorry that's all for today. But I mean, that's what his regular sparring partners are for right? Why bring people in from other gyms to spar you while you're injured.... Methinks the lady doth not have any sparring experience....
