I think the writing was on the wall from the start. Put the low blow, and from what I have seen the referee was in a good position to make a decent judgement, to one side and I think it went the way most of us thought it would. Usyk, overwhelming favourite prevails with the opponent having some moderate success. I genuinely feel the punch was low enough to be called a low blow, from what I saw anyway. Maybe not a direct nut cracker but low enough to be called a low blow. Only Usyk knows, and the ref was in a good spot so it’s hard to disagree, unless of course you wanted Usyk to lose. It’s not the first time, and it definitely won’t be the last debatable punch we see in a boxing ring. As for a rematch, forget it, the result won’t be any different.
Doesn’t sound great when Whyte allegedly got £8 million against Fury. He had no promoter or manager so probably got the vast majority of it too.
Mandatory challenger against unified champion in front of almost 50,000 people on away turf and on UK PPV at almost £30 a pop. Would you be happy with £750k?
