Mayorga impressed me today, he fought his fight and deserved the victory, I think he won't have a problem getting another big fight, clottey vs mayorga would be a good fight. But he will be gutted after losing and he might lose the will to continue fighting. I think Mosley should retire, he looked a shadow of the fighter he used to be, it was a great victory for him and if he does decide to retire then it would be the best thing for boxing and him. anyone got the judges scorecards? I had mayorga winning 107-103 going into the 12th.
he made mosley look silly for 10 rounds, he was the better fighter throughout, he clearly deserved to win.
I had Mosley winning 106-104.. Much props to Mayorga tho.. Did better than I thought and have Mosley hell.. I thought it was gonna' go to the scorecards with a controversial decision and then bam.. Mayorga get's KO'd.. He should probably retire now, but he'll probably keep on fighting..
HE made Mosley look silly? Mosley was easily winning that fight. How do you give any props to a guy thats been nothing but a clown. He got KOed again. In the last 5 seconds of the fight. That is a dumb ass if i ever saw one.
You make it sound like this went the distance and Mayorga got the victory. I do agree with you that Mayorga was doing better but he still got KO'd in the end. Even if he didn't Mosley would have 2 knockdowns in the 12th and Mosley wins it. I did think Mayorga was winning but it was close and if he got those two knockdowns counted it would be 100% Mosley for the judges' cards and mine.
mosley probably would have got the decision if mayorga got up, there was some close rounds but the only clear rounds that you could have said that mosley won clearly were the 2nd and the 6th.
Show the Mayo the respect he deserves...:deal http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92782
He did good. More composed than usual. I thought Mosley looked good but not great, not as good as he did against Cotto and others. Too much holding on his part...he really doesn't belong at 154 to me...to small. But Mayorga did well against a guy a few classes above him...he still has good power and a helluva chin.
Mayorga really surprised me with the success that he had against Mosley in the early rounds of the fight. I think that he has improved greatly since his loss to De La Hoya.
It's not that he's improved but as usual Mosley fought a stupid fight. Oscar kept him at the end of a jab and kept his poise, knocking him down in first round. Mosley succumbed to every single trap Mayorga laid out.
