Yeah, I saw that. Even though right after the ref stopped it his legs gave way and he was stumbling round the ring :nut

I've never liked the **** to be honest.

I'm glad he got smashed as I would have been devastated if he'd have somehow managed to beat Groves. As it is he didn't. Cant move back to Middle as it'll take too much out of him and lets face it, Barker and Macklin will still be there floating around trying to work there way back up as will Murray when Sturm dispatches him and all 3 would **** Smith.

The icing on the cake for me is the fact that Ishy called him a ****. If Ishy dislikes a British boxer then you can guarantee he's a gradeA twat!

He landed two good shots in the first when Groves got a little ambitious. That's not really doing well, in my estimation, and Groves took him out as soon as he settled down. Smith tried, showed a few things he hasn't in a while, but just isn't good enough beyond domestic level at 168.

always had a dislike for Paul Smith - he just has a miserable, sour look on his face, and never shows anyone any respect - I have to say that watching him on that video saying how Groves has no power, no stamina is overrated, thinks he's better than he is etc etc before 3 1/2 minutes in the ring with him left him staggering around like a **** stained old drunk at chucking out time made me laugh

    what do!?

lose 6 pounds (he isn't even making the advantages of full weight)
    look to the ibo route.
look to the u.s./germany who might use the mild attraction of a british champion who has a good record.
when groves, degale, macklin, barker move up he can pick up scraps while rebuilding himself.

he needs to revaluate everything. the guy is just SO vanilla when he fights. he wants to fight, he like to fight, he loves the sport in general. but he doesnt box well enough to trouble and phase brawlers, doesnt punch hard enough to keep swarmers off or patient enough to catch a mover, doesnt throw enough to make a danger.

it's all wrong. when he scraped by checka after the contender hype it just looked inevitable.

but put it the other way round. some fighters would kill to have his recognition, he was overcarded to a world title fight, and he has fought 2 of the best british super middles being produced....this is a selling point that i think he could exploit.

    Pre-fight stuff

"I said after that fight that 'styles win fights' and I know I have the style to beat him," Smith said.

"He leaves himself open. I feel he is an overrated fighter who had a one-off performance against DeGale.

    ----

Liverpool boxer Paul Smith insists George Groves will not have the punching power to frighten him when they meet in London on Saturday night.

Smith, 28, challenges Groves, 23, for the British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles at Wembley Arena.

"I don't think he can punch as hard as everyone thinks," said Smith.

"When have we seen a knockout when he's had a kid out cold? Every stoppage he's had they've been on their feet or gone down and got back up."

He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I've had 17 knockouts and, if you look at them, every single one has hit the floor hard.

"They've stayed there while the count has been called and there are paramedics called in straight away.

"The difference in punch power between the two of us is definitely in my favour."

Smith hopes that victory on Saturday night will help to set up a rematch with European champion James DeGale and is confident he will get the job done against Groves.

"I know I can hit," said Smith, who lost the British title to DeGale last December. "And I know what will happen when I catch George Groves. I think he knows what's going to happen when I catch him.

"The noises and the sounds he's making before this fight suggest so as well. All he keeps on going on about are the questions I'm going to ask him."
