Garcia looked timid before and during the "fight". After eight rounds everyone watching with me had it 8-0 for Lucas. I saw head butts ,low blows and the iffy knockdown and another theft of a decision. Sadly, in my eyes, more and more matches seem pre-determined. And the same goes for a lot of other pro sports. Mayweather promotions spent their money well again.
Not trying to take anything away from Danny after all he caused the damage. But there is no way you can deny that the swelling definitely had an impact on the fight.

Danny is a great fighter and a good guy, he showed a lot of class after the fight in getting a translator to give Lucas a great deal of props straight after the final bell, the swelling probably did play a part, but credit to Garcia for CREATING the swelling! I think the fight was starting to swing in Lucas' favour before that happened but Garcia pulled it out of the bag. I had it 114 - 112 for Garcia, he deserved it, sure there was some spoiling tactics and dirty fighting but you gotta do what you gotta do to win.
The issue I have with him is that he cheated. I was actually rooting for him but he pulled Cotto's move vs Judah. The judge let him get away with it so whatever.
I think people should just accept that Garcia is a very solid fighter and stop making excuses for Lucas. Danny's power closed Lucas eye is part of the game just accept it. Lol at people saying Danny was clinching well guess what that's a smart fighter. He was the better man tonight. I also think Angel Garcia hurts Danny with the public opinion. Is not Danny's fault that Angel is a dumbass. Danny doesn't talk **** about anybody. Garcia really impressed me tonight. Another thing that headline on the site's front page that says Mathysse got robbed is just idiotic. Garcia won that fight clearly deal with it people and stop sucking Lucas dick. He got beat simple as that. Props to the champ Danny Garcia.
That just idiotic Garcia won a close but clear decision. He gained a fan in me tonight. I didn't think he could fight as well as he did.
I've thought he sucked since the first Morales fight. Thought he'd get owned by Matthysse. He's very good. Don't give him much of a chance v. Mayweather (might not even watch that fight), but he's earned a shot as much as any Showtime fighter.
He totally made me eat my words. I'm not even gonna front, I really didn't thing Danny would stick to this game plan. He fought a smart fight, yeah there was some dirty stuff there, but overall he executed his game plan perfectly, put some nice combos, and showed a great chin!!!
