Respect Kessler more than Ward for Coming to England to fight Froch?

Leftovers? Don't start the new year with this attitude :/ He already beat both them and the fight wasn't even close. Ward has only fought in his actual hometown like 4 times I think. With Bika i don't think he even has a hometown...but that was a stay busy fight.

I love reading how people will make certain excuses for certain fighters, and deride others for the same thing

But yes, Ward doesn't need to travel. Though he would earn a lot of respect and make more fans if he did, I'm just saying

In Europe
Bute, Dirrell, Pascal, Andrade, Green, Lucas, Lacy, Manfredo, Pudwill, McIntyre, Jimenez, Sheika, Brewer, Mitchell, Schommer, Holmes, Close (I said based in America), Thornton, Essett, Jarvis, McClellan, Perez, Gatti (not Arturo), Tate, Butler, G Johnson, Hernandez, Bryan
Lost in Europe
This just gives an idea but do consider that out of those 28 fighters 21 were or became world rated in the division, and some fought more than once in Europe.
You can add Mack to that list also to make 29 fighters.

Joe may as well of never fought at LH. His stint there was more bogus than his SMW title defences.

and then refused to give a rematch on neutral territory, infact it's funny Kessler never got a rematch despite being a champion

Seeming to forget that Calzaghe was at the end of his career and had a bigger fight in Hopkins after Kessler and was struggling bad to make SMW and was then a LHW. All this unlike Ward

and travelling down to Wales to fight Joe and it's also funny niether Reid or Hopkins got a rematch both guys gave Calzaghe his toughest fights

What did Reid do right after fighting Calzaghe to get a rematch? Lost. Also dont forget that Reid refused to give Calzaghe a shot when Reid was champ and wouldnt have a unification with Calzaghe.
As for Hopkins, he backed out on Calzaghe years previously.
Looks like their very own actions came back to haunt them

yet Mario Veit a guy Calzaghe blasted out of there in ONE round previously was worthy of a rematch

Calzaghe had to rematch him, or he would have lost his title, as unlike Reid, Veit after losing became the int champ and would have been awarded Calzaghes belt if Calzaghe didnt fight him. Calzaghe was due to fight a nothing fight with B Magee, before the more highly rated and accomplished Veit had his team pull the plug

A fighter who held the weakest of all the recognised world title belts stayed mostly at home to defend his 'title' and happened to have an equally protected fighter in the same division both men going on long unbeaten streaks while avoiding each other was not ideal.

Only around a half of Calzaghes world title fights were in his own
based country, so not sure what you are on about?

It took Joe 41 fights before he became unified and lineal champion yet Ward has managed to do it in 25 fights

Thats because Ward was in a competition that made it possible. Reid and Ottke refused to fight Calzaghe when champs, but that shows the mark of Calzaghe, when old and past his best, the young champs are willing fight him and old Calzaghe beats them, which is even now Wards best win fighting a leftover

while facing decidedly stiffer competition, unless you think Lacy and Brewer are better oppenents then Froch and Kessler.

I think Eubank, is better than Kessler and Mitchell, and Lacy arguably better than Froch. As explained the division standard has dropped.
Froch rarely looked good, and was fought to a Mdec by old past prime G Johnson before fighting Ward, the same G Johnson who was beaten when prime by Sheika. Lacy was beating guys like Vanderpool by KO, who was schooling Johnson, who was Frochs fight before Ward.
Froch had looked poor in most of his world title fights and never beat anyone as good as Liles like Mitchell did.
then there are all of the other top SMWs Calzaghe beat.

If Kessler goes to UK it will be very unusual and probably a reckless decision that almost no top fighter would. When did Hopkins, May weather, Ward etc last even consider leaving the US?

ALL contractually obliged? no no no Ward only entered under the condition that he have home advantage, plus Froch had already gone to the US on his first defence against Taylor and Kessler had already put a world title on the line in a unification fight abroad against Calzaghe. Both had already shown their willingness before the tourney was created. atsch
