Possible. I wasn't hyped for this fight at all, but then Wilder started talking **** and I wanted to see him get beat up. But I don't think that's what this is. I think that money has changed him, or else revealed who he really is.
He's clearly a good father (not sure about husband) and he handled the whole Charlie Zelenoff situation maturely. I'm quite positive that a lot of this is scripted although I don't think his post fight antics were. To be fair, he is probably concussed right now
Fury is the rightful winner and gets my respect too it goes without saying. That being said, I wouldn't say either of them are saints.
Considering that the guy was threatening his disabled daughter the response was expected. Also wilder wasn't really trying to beat him up but teach him a lesson about threatening others. "I genuinely care for the guy. I want him to stop [harassing people] before he messes with the wrong person. You never know who you're dealing with"- deontay on Charlie z
Agreed, I remember liking him early on. He had one of those showtime mini-documentaries before a fight, showed him taking care of his daughter etc.. The way he was talking, I was like. Wow, what a stand up guy. Although one thing that always ticked me off about him is how he'd celebrate after a KO, I think maybe it was the Liahkhovich fight but he had one of those scary knockouts and he'd just celebrate like a madman, dancing around the ring. Just zero class.. I don't expect boxers to be exemplary in that regard but don't add insult to injury by just being straight up disrespectful. Then he starts talking about killing people in the ring etc. After that I was just like, **** this piece of ****. Hope he gets KO'd. Finally it happened. Thanks Tyson Fury. Still hope he's OK, I don't wish long term injury on any fighter.
Charlie Z is mentally ill. If you doubt that for a single second just ask yourself what sane person would actually show up to fight a professional HW boxer who was literally twice their size, 30-0 (KOs), considered one of the hardest punchers in the HW division with murderous power in their right hand, after mocking their sick young daughter?
TBF I don't blame Wilder for it, he's probably too dumb to realize this. And Charlie Z mentally ill or not deserved a beating anyway, going to gyms cheap shotting strangers. But yeah, he definitely wasn't trying to teach him a lesson, rightly or wrongly if it was just him and Charlie Z and nobody else around, who knows what would have happened lol.
