No, you're confusing two concepts. Catchweight titles fights are NOT OK and very different. Bivol challenging Canelo at 168 for Undisputed is not a catchweight dumbo. He would be attempting to win the legitimate Undisputed World Titles at the normal weight limit. That's completely different than catchweight title fights where the smaller fighter is looking for an unfair advantage. i.e. Mayweather Canelo, Pac Cotto, Pac Margo, etc.

Don't hold back, tell me how you REALLY feel. You sound very worried about a Canelo Bivol rematch. Don't be a ducker, if Bivol is as good as you say he is, you should want to see the rematch to see Canelo beaten a second time.

I know you and many GGG fans had a big problem when Canelo vacated his Middlewieght Title before challenging GGG the very next year.

"But GGG is in his 40s, he's old, so vacating titles is OK."

It's the principle of the matter. GGG did what you and many GGG fans criticized Canelo for doing. Vacating not just one title but 2 titles by refusing to fight your mandatory. And it's not as though GGG has announced his retirement either. GGG made it very clear after he lost to Canelo that he was still the Unified MW Champion and still had those titles to defend. So there's really no defending GGG's actions since our bet. He's done nothing to deserve an appreciation topic over the last year+. If GGG had given the fans a better fight against Canelo the 3rd time I would have a reason to praise him in a GGG appreciation topic, even if he lost, but fought valiantly. The mini-rally late after 8 rounds of next to nothing just wasn't enough. Maybe I'll have to wait until GGG retires before the GGG appreciation topic happens.

In any event, I'm glad to be back and there's plenty new to discuss in the sport of boxing. Canelo's performance vs Ryder was impressive I'd imagine you'd agree. It will be interesting to see if Bivol will accept a rematch at 175, or what is next for the king of boxing.

I would never advise a tourist to take a stroll through my hood because I know there's a 99% chance they would get robbed by some of the kind of toughs I earned my stripes fighting against when I was coming up making a name for myself. Same rule applies with Clenelo's ginger mafia judges - they tried to rob Brother Dmitry once and this time they absolutely will.

I'm all for Canelo vs Bivol fighting for Undisputed at 168. Of course Canelo would be risking everything vs a fighter that already beat him. And Bivol although would have to cut weight, it wouldn't be the same as Dawson against Ward because Dawson was much bigger at LHW than Bivol is. It's still a weight cut for Bivol but it would be done to attempt to make history. It's not like it would be an unfair catchweight insisted on by the smaller fighter as we've seen before. But if Canelo beats him at 168, then the drain birds will come out and not give him credit due to Bivol's weight cut, even though it's Bivol who wants to do that.

At the same time you cannot blame Canelo for wanting a rematch at 175 so win lose or draw there would be no excuses. I've outlined the ideal scenario of a rematch at 175 then a 3rd fight at 168, but if Bivol refuses to rematch Canelo at 175 then it's a very interesting fight for Undisputed at 168. If Bivol refues to rematch him at 175, if he will only fight him at 168 for Undisputed, then Canelo should have an opportunity to fight for something in that fight as well, namely Bivol's 175 title, since LHW is anything under 175 lbs including 168.

However what I pointed out is that if Bivol agrees to rematch Canelo at 175 before fighting him at 168 in a 3rd fight, then there should be a reward for Bivol for fighting Canelo again at 175, in that if he wins a rematch at 175 then he wouldn't have to put his 175 title on the line in a 3rd fight at 168. And if Bivol does grant a rematch at 175 before a 3rd fight at 168, even if Canelo wins and takes his title, he could win it back in a 3rd fight since LHW is technically any weight below 175 including 168. Ideally if they were to fight at 168 it would be better if Bivol fought Beterbiev first, so if he wins that a fight at 168 could be for Undisputed at SMW and LHW in the same fight which would be historic.

I don't blame Canelo for wanting it again at 175 at all, he clearly wants to avenge it at that weight, my thing is, Bivol offered him a chance to claim his title and he couldn't, I think it very fair for Canelo to offer Bivol that same opportunity. If Canelo were to win the second fight (I don't think he would but lets say he does), I would think the 3rd fight should definitely be 175 again. I think we disagree more with the order/weight classes than anything.
