Both showed tremendous heart and will to win. They were very Godly in their respective win/loss. I am now a Cotto fan. True, i was jumping up and down and doing the russian dance as Cotto was being hammered in the 11th. Right after, i felt bad, i showed him respect. he is still a great champ in my eyes and skilled. Promps to Margo for being Godlier.
................Absolutely. Boxing has so little of this kind of big fight now. Last night was a great night for the sport, and both deserve accolades.
both showed they can dish it and both showed they can take it. i was impressed w/ how margarito just kept coming despite everything cotto was throwing. however, i was equally as impressed w/ how long cotto was able to sustain throwing those power shots at this bull who wouldnt stop chasing him down. anyone who has has fought someone taller than yourself (which i constantly had to cuz im only 5"10) realizes how much it takes out of you to be swinging uphill like that. i'm surprised cotto lasted as long as he did.
Thats the thing for me as well. Though I had watched more Cotto fights than Margarito I couldn't help but feel happy for Tony to finally get his shot. And he showed a professional and respectful attitude in the leadup to this fight. As did Cotto. I came on here last night after the fight (which I shouldn't have) and was disgusted by the lack of respect towards Cotto. Cotto, who did nothing to deserve such disrespect I might add. Massive respect to both of these guys and I hope to see them both again soon against whoever they choose to face.
