He's young and hungry. No faster way to the top than by beating the top guy. I agree. Money or not, props to Canelo for going after the fight. It takes 2 to tango and it's clear Canelo was ready to dance.

I hope the 152 doesn't affect him too much. At 22 years of age, I'm hoping he is being smart about it and dropping a little weight earlier than usual so it's less of a shock during camp.

    He's 22 years old. It's a non-issue.

Not many 22 year old would be willing to take this fight.

Hes in the enviable position of being able to lose this and still come back and be great.

Man you are too gay. Yesterday you were accusing Floyd would not fight Canelo or fight anyone dangerous. Now today you want people to give a guy who is 12 years younger, 20lbs heavier naturally, and doesn't even want to fight Floyd at his more efficent weight respect.

You are such a joke of a poster.

everyone was praising floyd, so wanted alvarez to get some praise too.

He's the one who has to cut weight.

And yes i have said floyd will not fight alvarez.

And i am very pleased that he has agreed to.

I'm also happy with the catchweight because it just funny watching all these *****s backtrack about how catchweights are ok in this instance

The only crap that Manny gets is due to his fans. I never actively started threads to gather masses to complain about the manny catchweight evil doings. The only time that i've brought it up is resume compare.

Canelo is 22. Much easier to cut weight at a younger age, nothing but good news for fans. And it's the only concession for the biggest fight he'll probably ever land? awesome.

Even if he loses, win win for Canelo.

    @john.

One thing you should remember is that Manny fought for Cotto's title and demanded a catchweight. Canelo who have called out Floyd for months and got a fight with Floyd closer to his optimal weight. The challenger won the negoatation.

How many people do yiu think would not fight mayweather for a million dollars. I would fight his ass just to get my student loans paid off

  11. He is over 40 fights in his career, he cant be babied and protected forever, even though Mexican fans put up with it, also with Chavez jr. What a joke. Each has 40 fights with nobodies except their last couple.

    Much respect to Canelo.

    Not so much to Floyd.

  14. No ****, it's a no lose situation. You lose to the very best ever and make insane money, or even get lucky and pull off a win, while your catching an aging fighter.

    :deal:deal

He has nothing to lose vs Mayweather, Trout was a show and prove that he could have avoided, Floyd is a massive payday and huge boost to his popularity even with a loss, plus he's 22 so he can rebuild easy and still go on to be a great fighter. His career will not suffer at all by losing to Mayweather. Trout was a huge risk though, he woulda been called a fraud had he lost lopsidedly.
