Wilder's stamina and mobility along with his power make him a nightmare of a matchup for any of the top heavies. Wilder going into the Povetkin fight mentioned fighting the winner of Fury-Wlad. However, Gassiev, who regularly sparred with both Wilder and Wlad said Wilder would be all wrong for Wlad.

Wilder is also very consistent with his conditioning and fight weight, which is why I think he'd also beat Tyson Fury, who is very talented, but doesn't always show up in good shape. Parker is getting better at having a consistent fighting weight, but I'd still prefer Parker at 240 rather than 245. Joshua seems to be struggling to stay around the 245 mark where I think he's most effective. At 250+ Joshua's size starts becoming liability against top competition.

It will take a big punch and in fact a lucky punch on Joshua's face.

Wilder is a moron who priced himself out of any fight with AJ.. 50/50 lol.. Sure he wants it..

Parker on the other hand actually wants it..

I agree that Parker needs a better team around him. Though if they held out for 40% the fight would of never happened, Joshua told Hearn he would never do it for that split.

You can't compare GGG and Jacobs to this negotiation. AJ is a far bigger draw than Golovkin. Golovkin made 2 mill vs Wade, we can discount the Brook purse, there would be no UK PPV money for the Jacobs fight. While Jacobs made about a quarter of that with 550k for Mora. Golovkin needed to give Jacobs a record purse and Jacobs highest purse was $1.5 mill vs Quillin.

In comparison Parker only made $1.5 mill at best vs Fury, his biggest purse to date. Joshua was guaranteed at least $13 mill vs Takam and likely earned way more. Golovkin was 4 times the draw of Jacobs while Joshua is at least 10 times the draw that Parker is. Jacobs was just asking for 25K more than his highest payday while Parker is getting over $10 mill above his highest payday. Personally I think I'd take Parker's deal over Jacobs.

Wilder signed to fight Ortiz and Povetkin. I don't recall him turning down a Wlad fight, when did that happen?

Of course Gassiev would be complimentary to the fighter who was currently paying him for sparring lol. The fact that Wlad KO'ed Wilder twice in sparring and sent him home early tells us all we need to know about the style match up between Wilder and Wlad, lol.

Wilder talks a great deal about fighting a lot of fighters, Parker, Povetkin, Joshua, Bellew etc but he's fought none of them. Compared to AJ who after winning the belt looked to unify within a year of winning a belt. Wilder after winning a belt had Finkel say they were not looking to unify lol. Turned down $10 mill to fight Povetkin lol. Almost 3 years after winning a belt we are still waiting for Wilder to back up all his talk.

He didn't have a choice in regards to Povetkin, mandatory. He ducked Povetkin after winning the belt from Stiverne. Finkel said soon after the Stiverne win that they got a $10 mill offer from Povetkin which they turned down. In the same interview he says they ain't chasing Wlad. So he never turned down a Wlad fight because he never went for Wlad.

Wlad then fought Jennings instead, in his first fight in the US for 7 years. Wonder why he decided to fight in the US? Obviously he was trying to get US exposure to build for a Wilder fight. Wlad then had to deal with his mandatory in Fury which he lost so that killed any chance of Wlad/Wilder. But when there was a small window of opportunity for the fight to happen, Wilder's team didn't want it.

the only challenger who never faced wlad while he was active is deontay wilder
you can think what you want of Anthony Joshua, but if you try and paint wilder in a better light than Joshua based on this, then you are fooling yourself
what you're also saying in effect, is that klitschko was "shot to ****" and wilder STILL wouldn't face him

I don't doubt for a second that they didn't want to chase a Wlad fight, but I just wanted to be certain he didn't actively turn one down.

He was forced, but he still signed at the end of the day. Same with Ortiz. Wilder's resume is trash and I don't really rate him but I just don't like this myth that he's run from every good fight that's come his way.

KO of Klit and shutting out Takam much more impressive than hitting air all night against Canelo, and winning a controversial decision against Jacobs

Your hero GGG looks far more beatable than Joshua

Parker has 0 chance against AJ... Ray Charles could tell you that.

Prefer to see Parker in with someone closer to his level like Whyte or Breazeale.

Fair point. I mean if you're going to keep mentioning age then look no further than Wilders next opponent and thats Ortiz who maybe 39 years of age by the time the talked about Wilder/Ortiz gets made. You could say Ortiz is shot as well.

Parker has to make AJ work to get him gassing. Can' just sit back and wait for it as against Takam he managed his stamina alot better.

Parker needs to get inside and work AJs body. Rough dirty ward like tactics would work a treat imo
