Dibella and HBO are very very close.
I dont discount Kessler getting another shot in the USA. He will have to earn it again. But he left a soar taste and it no doubt could effect his future here.

Thobela ring any bells. And if I were a Kessler fan I wouldnt be throwing around the names of the guys that he has fought, its not like its impressive or anything.

Kessler is taking the Kohl's and UBP route to building a boxing career. Fight alot of bums and claim that everyone is ducking them. Yet the only evidence of anyone ducking Kessler is coming from Team Palle and Kesslers fans. What I know for fact is Kessler called out Lacy, Lacy said lets fight Kessler backed out saying that he was injured and they tried to throw that Rudy guy in the ring with Lacy. Then he agrees to fight Miranda and backs out to fight a guy that he has already beat.

As far as Dawson goes, he has half the fights as Kessler and his resume is about the same in terms of level of guys that he is fighting. People pull out of fights with Dawson not the other way around:good

Pantera is a gob shite all said and done.

He has fought nobody at 168lb...infact at middleweight, each champ he fought he got beaten by.

He has fought a washed-up Porras and that bum from the TV show, David Banks.

Now he demands the right to perhaps the no2 super middle in the division?

I like the way Miranda was offered the Froch fight for the WBC#1 mandatory slot when Inkin cried off... and turned it down flat.

Kessler did right to turn down the 'Pantera' bum in my opinion.

When the bum has a ranking and has fought someone, will his baloney statements hold water.

What don't you understand about Mundine's 'bogus' title becoming legit when Calzaghe moves up to LHW, vacating the regular WBA SMW title?

And since when do you have a problem with boxers exercising their rights as mandatory challengers?

He has a huge US TV date against a beatable fighter who everyone is watching ATM, and now all of a sudden, he would rather want a trinket belt he already held, with the fight not aired in the US.

I thought Kessler's main goal was US exposure and becoming a name over here? What ever happened to that?

It is a disgrace ... it shows that some prize fighters are actually cowards ... it also shows that some promoters and managers are really into protecting their fighters.

Why get into the fight game if you're going to pull this bull**** ... this is why other fans speculate ... this way fans discredit fighters for what they've accomplished ... this is why European fighters get a bad wrap ... this is why the fight game in recent years have taken a turn for the worse.

Now if Kessler was his own man ... he would force his handlers hand and get the fight on ... you embarrass the network that already took the risk of televising this fight and you also embarrass the super middleweight division ... which has struggled to become a recognized division in the sport of boxing.

It really makes Kessler look like a ***** ... it you look into the numbers this should be a fight than Kessler wants ... this guy has a name and he's a guy that you could easily outbox ... Kessler should know deep down inside that he could beat this guy --

    WTF?:huh

    That's correct.

Fact is, a Miranda fight >>> WBA regular trinket, when it comes to securing a fight with Taylor, Dawson, Pavlik, etc.

Who says Calzaghe is making a permanent move to LHW? He's already expressed interest in fighting Pavlik next. Calzaghe abdicating his WBA title is far from a certainty.

I don't. As I stated earlier, I'm puzzled. Kessler says he wants to make a name for himself in America, then he goes and pulls a stunt like this. He had a golden opportunity to look good on a major American network. Instead, he chose to go after a fighter that may or may not fight him, for a crap title that may or may not become legit. Now, Showtime won't want to deal with him anytime soon. Also, he's hurt his chances with HBO being that Dibella has strong ties with them and his last fight on there wasn't much of a commercial success.

There's an old saying that says "a bird in hand is worth two in the bush". Kessler had a bird in his hand and he threw it away for two birds in the bush that he may or may not catch.
