What he said was Pavlik was the ONLY fight that he would go back down to 168 for.

I know that. Therefore, if he fights Pavlik he won't vacate his titles. Pavlik said he would welcome a fight with Pavlik. Furthermore, nothing is certain in boxing. Boxers change their minds all the time. Ask Kessler.

Why?? He was right about what he said the fight was signed and ready to go but Kessler bitched out. Rafael is just a pissed boxing fan right now.

P.S- Rafael is an ******* but he's right about this.

Dan Rafael is a boxing fan first ... i'm pretty sure if he wasn't a respected columnist that he would still be mad at this situation ...

    It pisses me off --

I had respect for Kessler ... I didn't have any for Miranda ... and now that this **** happened ... they're neck and neck.

Miranda lost 2 fights against powerful guys ... he can't box and Kessler stood to be the first master boxer to beat Miranda ... he couldve done that and had leverage over anyone he wanted to fight next.

No he is definately NOT right about this.

Im pissed btw about how Kesslers management went on with the bull**** but I have too admit that they now stand in agood position to force the belt off of Mundine and then go for the fight with either Miranda, Taylor, Winky or who else wants the the WBA strap.

Dan the man was pissed because he was so sure about this fight that he even started telling internet boxing fans about it.
Now his credibility has cracked a bit and this is why he is as sour as grapes in the spring.

A belt means nothing ... he could land a big fight w/o a belt ... he has a decent name fighting in a big Euro fight w/ Calzaghe ...

He just needed to fight a recognized name to the US and then go from there.

A title makes a fight more dramatic, but it doesn't hold much weight when big names are involved.

You actually lose money ... from sanctioning fees ...

You cant go chasing belts when you claim you want big fights and to make a name for yourself. Taylor could have took the fight with Abraham instead of Pavlik and got back a belt that was already his, and still been champ. that isnt what he did. He took on the guy that everyone wanted him to fight, he took on the guy that was thought to be the second best fighter to him at the weight. Sure he lost but he was respected for it, and he is still in line for some major fights. Should Kessler lose to Mundine he will become a after thought. No one will care about him outside of northwestern Europe.

Bottomline is Kessler is taking the safe route down a road that he knows were it will end.

I would have no problem with Kessler going after the belt, if not for that small matter of already having a fight on his plate. He should have fought Miranda then gone after Mundine. What was the pressing need to fight Mundine RIGHT NOW??

My answer to the question is already stated....He took the EASY ROAD. what would have happened if Mundine were to fight his REAL number one contender...OH wait he didnt have one, which was the point of the fight with Miranda in the first place. Kessler's people begged themselves right pass that point.

Force that bull**** belt from Mundine??? Why?? He already beat Mundine and the belt that Mundine has means nothing. He bitched out plain and simple.

No Dan was RIGHT the fight was signed and sealed ready to go they had a big network date set the fight was a go. Dan was right. He can't predict Kessler acting like a **** and pulling out for NO reason. And trying to get a paper title from Mundine is a real reason.

Well the fight was basiclly signed Showtime had already given them a date and everything was agreed on. Then Kessler woke up one day with a hangover and he forgot where he put his balls and he's yet to find them.

True enough. It sounds like he wants the Pavlik fight and may be saying that as enticement. Pavlik is fighting his stable mate next. Stay tuned.

    **** Dan Rafael
    Business is bussiness.
Kessler made a decission not to fight Miranda because of business and whats best for him.
Whether it was the right decision or not is not the issue.
The issue is if he is a disgrace which he is not (read the definition).

    prove that.

from what ive seen out of this article and others is that Kessler and his camp are scared to fight Miranda. plain and simple.

there's no arguing against that if they have him fight a nobody in his next fight.
