Rafael is not respected. He said he would shave his head if Mayweather - JMM do 1 million buys. He did not. His word means nothing.

And now he is hating on Floyd becuase he made him look like an idiot.

    Fat *******.

I've always wondered what got in Rafael's parents head to call him Respected columnist Dan?

He's right, best thing would be to avoid catchweight for this fight to uphold the integrity and credibility of the biggest Welterweight bout since Tito-Oscar (and possibly the biggest fight since Leonard-Hagler).

I was thinking the other day about another thing Rafael said about these guys being polar-opposites. It couldn't be any more true.

One is a humble guy from humble beginnings who rose to the top of his sport by taking on and beating the best. The other a loud mouth disrepectful twat from a rich family who got to the top through the path of least resistance.

Even their fighting styles couldn't be vastly different, Floyd's being as defensive as they come, while Pac is the personification of a wrecking ball. Should be a great 24/7

Im not atacking you,and i consider you to be a good poster but c'mon man, people talking about Pac being on steroids without a single proof tha he is,people talking about catchweights like he has made a career out of it,accusing him of ducking slick black fighters when there was only one slick fighter that he could have fought regardless of race and that was Guzman.

The guy never talks **** about anyone, fights the best, its always in exciting fights and instead of appreciating one of the best things to happen in boxing people make bull**** rumours to bring the guy down, its ridiculous.

Freddie Roach is only calling for a catchweight because he knows Floyd is gonna come in over the limit, making him cough up the extra money like in Floyd's fight with Marquez.

I don't believe in Dan Rafael anyway. The guy picked against Pac on most if not all of his fights.

Its a non factor........its not like Floyd actually follows any agreements when it comes to weight. He was so scared of marquez that he paid the money to come in heavier.

:rofl Dan Rafael & "Catchweight" in the same sentence...

I do agree tho Pac has proven that the catchweight is not needed.
    He is a WW.

Yeah, I don't think a catchweight would be right here either. Manny doesn't even have to worry about Floyd being as big as Cotto was on fight night. Shouldn't be a problem at all. A non-factor. If they demand it, it's probably just negotiation posturing because I don't think anybody is assuming Mayweather would even stick to a catchweight agreement ala the Marquez contract.

BigReg I ain't got no problems with your thread at all, just pointing out the red part to clarify a few things though...

As a fight fan you should never care about what the PPV numbers are or would be...You can't even begin to understand in life how things can be created and made a reality if that's the decided agenda..

The real reason why Mayweather vs Marquez reached over 1 million buys is because of the incredible marketing tools that backed that promotion like never before, except for the Mayweather-Hoya contest. The power of mass promotion to make fights seem compelling to the non expert fight fan ! Now this is also the exact reason why Pacquiao is also made to be bigger than nature now !!

PPV numbers are a direct reflection of the true effort and promotonal tools and advertisement power used to sell a fight, therefore not what casual fans want to see, but what they are conditioned to decide seeing. You will always get the real fans involved but the every day ''Joes & Janes'' of this world are sold to the idea and that's what makes it 1 to 1.5 million instead of .4 to .7 million....

True fight fans should never let the PPV illusion blind them from what makes sense ! Now obviously Pacman vs Mayweather makes sense, so the promotion would go hand in hand with common sense, not Mayweather-JMM, that was a created illusion.

The WW limit is 147. The commission would make Floyd try to lose the weight if he was over that limit. Now if you're telling me Roach is asking for a catchweight so that Mayweather can come in over the catchweight and they can then strong arm some extra money, that's even worse.
