WBC did actually order the Whyte - Breazeale fight. PBC immediately responded by making Wilder - Breazeale which of course took precedence. WBC then sanctioned the Rivas fight for the interim WBC title, as by this time Wilder had signed 3 fights in a row. Ortiz and the two fury fights.

Not quite sure your point here. Whyte became WBC#1 because he consistently beat better opponents than his peers in the WBC rankings...

    2015
Joshua was ranked at WBC#2 when he beat Whyte, they then installed Whyte at WBC#20. It was actually a fun fight. Whereas Joshua v Martin and then Breazeale were one sided beat downs.

    2016

Whyte beats Bacurin, Allen and Lewison, so he climbed the rankings to WBC
Whyte WBC#10 beat Chisora who was WBC#11 (in a title eliminator)

    2017

Whyte takes a tune up and beats Tann.
October: Whyte WBC#3 beat Helenius WBC #16 and the International Silver title.

What were the other WBC contenders doing?
#1 Stiverne (inactive) gets demolished in a round against Wilder, where Stiverne threw 4 punches.
#2 Ortiz failed a drug test, and um...he beat Dave Allen in December 2016 (who you don't like on Whyte's resume)
    #3 Whyte, see above.
#4 Andy Ruiz Jr., lost to Parker in 2016, didn't fight in 2017.
#5 Carlos Takam, lost to Joshua in October 2017.
#6 Breazeale, got beat up and stopped by Joshua in 2016; then in 2017 Breazeale beats Ugonoh and then WBC#12 Molina (in a title eliminator - the other half to Whyte v Chisora)

So...it makes sense that Whyte climbs to Number 1 in November 2017

    2018

Whyte WBC#1 beats the undefeated Browne, then Parker, and then Chisora again...
    Breazeale WBC#2 beats Carlos Negron
Ortiz WBC#3 loses to Wilder, then beats Cojanu and Kaufman

    2019

They make Breazeale the mandatory, and Ortiz gets a second title shot.

I am curious to know if there are examples of this in history? Where the mandatory gets knocked out cold, wins the rematch, and gets the title shot in his next fight without a trilogy fight.

Whyte is without doubt the HW most deserving of title shot.

    This is quite specific circumstances:
Dillian loses his interim title by KO to Povetkin (but he did score 2 KDs). Beats Povetkin in the rematch. Then is installed as mandatory.

Hmm... Loses a title, wins the rematch, gets to be mandatory.

That's a tough one, but I'll try and think if there are similar examples in history...

How about this, I found a guy who lost a title, taking a one sided beating across 12 rounds. Then made one come back fight beating a top 50 guy. Then got a mandatory title fight.

Actually, that sounds way worse than this current Whyte situation...

    What was his name again?

Oh yeah, now I remember: Bermaine Stiverne

Fair enough whyte deserves his shot...but instead of holding off to hear the wbc,s decision he signed for a fight. He should be obligated to take that fight now. You cant mess people about like that. Wallins done training camps etc...probably spent a good bit of money. They keep talking about integrity in boxing...but everyones gonna just sit back and ignore how much wallins been messed about. As far as i see it as soon as whyte signed for wallin...that should be his next fight regardless.

I can't think of one the closest thing I can think of from the top of my head is Arreola/Stiverne.

Arreola was ranked #1 and Stiverne #2 and fought in 2013 in a WBC eliminator for the mandatory spot. Arreola lost then beat Seth Mitchell and then rematched Stiverne for the vacant WBC title. So despite losing an eliminator he 2 fights later got a title shot which is lost.

Whyte at least won the rematch against the guy lost an eliminator too unlike Arreola who only needed to beat Seth Mitchell to get his shot. That would be like Whyte losing to Povetkin, then KOing David Price in his next fight and then being gifted a title shot.

And then Whyte will be sulking and bemoaning the unfairness of it all when Fury beats him and sends him to the back of the line.
