only poster on ESB that I ever had the pleasure of meeting face to face. I believe he was a beat writer for Manny Pacquiao. He was their official biographer or something to that effect. He was one of the few who travelled on the Team Pacquiao Bus to Vegas We met at the Mandalay Bay for a long chat. We both loved Leonard Cohen's music. We acted like we knew each other like old friends. Damn, that sucks. I told him we should meet up for Manny's next fight. Never happened. RIP Wonderful gentleman and poster.
damn. excellent poster. had a wealth of knowledge and continued to post here despite all the dead weight spamming the site. seemed like a solid guy. he will be missed on here.
I know how you feel, I don't have the words. I am gonna take a break from this forum for while laters friends RIP John and Thank you.
Exchanged emails with John a few years back about him watching SRR as a young man. He sent me a link to a great article he had written. Just a true gentleman, with an unparalleled love of the sport of boxing. He always carried himself with great dignity and decency on this site. He will be greatly missed .
Sad to hear. He was one of the best posters at ESB. I sent him a PM a while back that he should put his articles and thoughts in a book.
A class act from stem to stern. I'll miss his posts. I'll miss his wisdom and grace. I'll miss him. But he also deserves this- :happy:happy:happy What a guy, huh? A life well lived. Take a bow in heaven JG!
So sad to hear this. As SB said above, he was a real class act. Joe had a way of making you feel special when you conversed with him, a personal touch so to speak. Im sorry I never met the man but feel like I did through his stories and anecdote. Would have loved to have had a beer and and a yarn with him. RIP Champ, you'll be missed
RIP. Kinda sad the Lounge went belly-up when it did. We probably missed out some fine posts from JG in his final months.
