How important is it to rest & does it matter how fit you are? I only ask because I'm building myself back up slowly and I'm a bit achy today  I'm rotating areas of my body (eg I don't do ab work 2 days in a row) but i'm wondering if I need to bother worrying about it at all? :think

Rest is often forgotten. You will get needless injuries if you go too far or don't rotate different intensity things.

Stretching will help you from feeling sore and improve your flexibility. Do it at the end of your workouts, and try a protein shake within 45 minutes of working out to rebuild your muscle.

1-2 days a week should be for rest. You can still workout on those days, light stuff like cycling or walking or stretching.
