    This is a good resume.....
H2H Carnera was incredibly strong and big, very tough, with a decent jab, with underrated mobility, certainly great for a guy with his size (better mobility than Lewis), with a good enought inside game......

    Carnera was Good !!

Add Young Stribling (HOFer) to that list as well.

    Agreed.

Taken on its face, I don't think there is such a "clear" difference between Lewis and Carnera's resumes at all. And in fact, I don't think too many people have ever really criticized Carnera's resume in itself - it was the various circumstances and "suspicions" surrounding those wins that always clouded his legacy.

As for Willard, he has the distinction of dethroning a long-reigning HOF champ, but his resume outside of that is comparatively sparse due to his stretches of inactivity.

So you think Willard & Carnera are on the same H2H-Level of greatness as Lewis? :huh

Yep. It is infact the unpopular opinion thread. I think Lewis would probably beat them based on styles, but by the same token I would expect them to do very well in lewis's era.

Neither would head to head  That's just goto go down as a bad comment mate and shows how underrated Lewis is by some. Michael Grant is probably as good as those 2, although Carnera is allot better than Willard

    H2H makes even less sense.

I'm afraid that I have to side with the Lewis suporters here.

Willard and Carnera are under rated, but they are not in Lewis's class.

Carnera was pretty good but being a mob protected fighter in the strongest era of boxing makes me suspicious of him.

Not just that, but circumstantially whilst his knock out of sharkey was great, sharkey had not proven his own superiority to max schmelling. So primo was very good but never premiere and i'd stop short of calling him great.

Now had he gone on to defeat max or max his legacy would have been secured.

I agree Carnera was good very underrated but he was not Lewis good, Lewis was at another level I don't think Carnera gets out of the second round with Lewis. Willard would do better but that does not mean he was a better fighter than Carnera.

Why do you have to be 'afraid' to agree? It's okay to think a more modern and more black fighter is better. Don't worry.
