****yzing the resumes between Pacquiao and PBF, who has the better resume based on:

    -Quality of opposition
    -Title fights
-KO per championship fights (quality of KO)
-Was the opponent on his prime, ascending or descending
    -eye test per fights won
    -Common opponents

    What's your take?

That's an odd way of asking by putting that criteria which is both numerical and qualitative.

Well let's quantify each category between 1-5, 1 the lowest mark, 5 the best mark....

I want to be able to review the persons opinions rather than a read a blanket statement: ... PBF By far or Pac is best, or whatever....I want us to dig deep and review it in a quantifiable manner!:good

You say title fights and championship fights in your criteria. The lineal title?

Here is a list of each of their records in lineal championship fights ("lineal title" being debatable to some at times):

    Floyd Mayweather Jr, 16-0 w/ 8 KO's, 130 + 135 + 147 + 154 champion
    130: W RTD8 Genaro Hernandez, W TKO2 Angel Manfredy, W UD12 Carlos Rios, W KO9 Justin Juuko, W RTD7 Carlos Gerena, W UD12 Gregorio Vargas, W TKO10 Diego Corrales, W UD12 Carlos Hernandez, W RTD9 Jesus Chavez
    135: W UD12 Jose Luis Castillo I, W UD12 Jose Luis Castillo II, W UD12 Victoriano Sosa, W TKO7 Phillip Ndou
    147: W UD12 Carlos Baldomir, W TKO10 Ricky Hatton
    154: W MD12 Saul Alvarez

    Manny Pacquiao, 6-1-1 w/ 5 KO's, 112 + 126 + 130 + 140 champion
    112: W KO8 Chatchai Sasakul, W TKO4 Gabriel Mira, L TKO3 Medgoen Singsurat
    126: W TKO11 Marco Antonio Barrera I, D12 Juan Manuel Marquez I, W TKO4 Fashan 3K Battery
    130: W SD12 Juan Manuel Marquez II
    140: W KO2 Ricky Hatton

Not to hung up in the "lineal tittle" as much as title bouts....

Quality opponents top rank at time of fight both PBF and Pac has fought half o their fight against top rank opponents!

Manny by far has fought more rematches or rivalry fights than PBF.... Which is a interesting but rather curious stat...I think!

    1. I'd say about a draw both have a who's, who of name's from this generation from 106-154
2.I got Floyd here again better record in title fight's, most champs beaten all time, tied with PAC for most Lineal Title's all time.
3.Pacquiao take's this one he has plenty of highlight reel KO's in big fight's
4.Eye test I go with Floyd looked more dominant for basically all his career PAC even when he win's by KO take a lot of damage in the process
5.Common opponent's I got Floyd, Manny looked a bit better but if you look at circumstances Floyd fought them in all better condition.

Overall I got Mayweather ultimately we'll find out May 2nd, Mayweather by competitive 10/11th rd TKO

not an easy question t answer

    manny has the big names

but most were either shot or weightdrained or coming off devastating losses

or a combination of the above

whereas floyd cherrypicked the majority of his career but his guys werent generally drained or shot

id have to say they're both as bad as each others

I disagree that on common opponents, if anything Pac fought er closer to their prime, Pac fought o clrarly over the hill ODLH, PBF fought a declining ODLH, sa Castillo on his prime, while Pac fought. Bradley on his prime twice ( and beat him both times).... Agreed Pac style and mindset is design to take more risk for the KO reward, he has show this over and aver, PBF not so much....maybe Maidana 1....

    Pacquiao.

Reason: Pacquiao has 11 wins over guys who are in, or going into the Hall of Fame: Morales x2, Marquez x2, Barrera x2, De La Hoya, Cotto, Mosley, Hatton, Bradley.

Mayweather has 7: De La Hoya, Mosley, Marquez, Hatton, Cotto, Gatti, Corrales.

Pacquiao has won titles on 8 weight classes and Mayweather 5.
