Lets take this into perspective. DLH isnt a nobody and the fact is he was very competitive in his few losses. And as was mentioned he clearly beat trinidad i dont care about the official decision and I did also have him beating Mosley in fight number two.

And pac also lost to Morales a meanigful fight. Its harder to keep winnign when your level of com p is higher and DLH's ;level of comp was definitely higher than pacs.

can't think of too many times we've agreed RightCross but i definetely back you on this one. Could pac be better than DLH all time? Possibly but i doubt it, as much as i might dislike DLH he was nearly monstrous in the mid 90s as you said. Either way at the moment Oscar's resume is so full of recognizable names that he either beat or was in a close fight with that its hard to say he isn't better.

Pac, he has a win over DLH too which we all know was shot, but it looks good on his record.
When Pac KO's Mayweather in 2, there will be no qiestion hows resume is better

Really? Even if pac beats mayweather, oscar lost a very close fight to Mayweather. oscar will stil ahve more HOF names on his resume I think. Chavez x2, Whitaker, Camacho, Gonzalez, Quartey, Carr on and on.

    :good

Good post and I think it is debatable for ATG status right now and even after mayweather. Resume, I think DLH clearly has the better resume and has fought the far better competition since becoming a pro.

For me i think its a talent issue as Pac has really just come into his own the last few years and DLh was kinda there all along. It makes for an interesting discussion.

De La Hoya definately has the bigger names (7 former P4P #1's + a few former Top 10 P4P) and he fought these guys consistently. I'd still go with Oscar at this stage, though Pac is quickly catching up with this historic run he's on and may overtake DLH imo with a Mayweather victory.

LOL. What the **** is this bull****? Why are the results of the fights not taken into consideration? I mean it IS a resume, isn't it?

That'd be like Tony Montana applying for a job at ING, stating his multi-million dollar profits on 'off-shore businesses' w/o stating what type of business it actually is. It looks good at first glance, but a little background check will just serve a much bigger embarrassment/jailtime.

Bottom line is that De La Hoya indeed, fought a lot of good, great fighters. He just didn't win the ones that counted.

Agreed, they're treating him like he's only as good as his last win and last loss. Neither were looking too good for him.

Manny is way higher ...while Oscar fought some good competition he always came up short in the big fights where Manny always came through.

how does delahoya compare to the modern day armstrong/duran. please, 4 weights in a year, 4 lineal titles, koing flyweights to welterweights. some people are still not giving credit he deserves.

    Pac easily.

De La Hoya should go down as a very good fighter, but Pac is a great.

DLH lost all his big fights, yes some were close but he still lost. Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Hatton, Oscar and Cotto= comfortably the best resume of any boxer in this era, especially if you take into account the weight divisions he has moved through. I mean, some of these guys are future hall of famers.

DLH like I said was very good, but his amateur story and his movie star looks helped a lot in making him a superstar. When you look at him purely as a fighter, not as a celebrity, then he's very good, because he showed he could compete with other fighters that are also known as very good fighters, future hall of famers etc, but he's not a great fighter. Pacman has seperated himself from the very good fighters by beating them. He is now a great.

I did factor in the losses, and the fact some of the could've gone either way. Remember, Oscar lost to greatest fighters of his generation, and was competitive in all but his last fight. Oscar has one of the deepest resumes in history, and I think he beat Mosley and Trinidad. I have him just ahead. But like I said Manny has closed the distance considerably with his recent run. You take away Manny's last couple of wins and Oscar trumps him easy.
