You cant compare margs and hatton. Cotto was hitting margs with some hard shots(only reason why he didnt go down is because he has an IRON JAW). I highly doubt hatton could walk through those type of shots

Cotto has pretty fast hands himself. And he is a great combination puncher. He was faster than Mosley remember. He has a great jab and the better boxing skills. Add to the fact that Hatton has no defense, is the smaller fighter and is content with eating punches. Then its a no brainer.

I agree with the fact that Cotto still needs to rebound from the Margarito loss. That throws a wrench into the equation. But he beats Hatton.

Wow winning against Paulie means Hatton automatically beats Cotto.... Cotto took punishment from a bigger and better man. At 147 Cotto would beat Hatton.

In general, Cotto will have alot more trouble with alot more fighters than alot more people now realize. All this "Cotto would kill so and so" **** is going to come to a final and complete end at some point. Hatton would certainly have a chance of troubling Cotto severely. Any somewhat educated aggressor will give Cotto trouble. That's good stylistics.

I doubt it, Cotto is a decent fighter but has beaten nobody of any note.

 Pah-leezes Urango he didnt win a ****ing round in that fight. Collazo??? he won the middle rounds and Hatton sweep the last two rounds on all three cards that isnt fading or wearing down.

In the Mayweather fight it was a matter of Floyd ad******g in the fight. Floyd is better then Cotto MUCH better and his style is more suited to beatting guys like hatton.

I agree, but the same people were saying that Hatton wouldn't stop Paulie just because Cotto didn't. Its a cliche but its just "styles", Cotto hits hard and is the better technician but Hatton exerts more steady pressure and thats what got to Paulie, not the big punches.

Mosley and Shane didn't allow Cotto to fight at his own pace, Cotto dictated the pace of the fight by having superior timing.

Ricky handled Tszyu's power well because he smothered Tszyu all night and never allowed him to get full extention on his shots to do damage. Even Ricky admitted that after the fight that he never felt the full sting of Kostya's punches. There's a reason why lesser punchers than Tszyu such as Magee, Phillips, Collazo, and Mayweather were able to hurt him. They had sharp, accurate punches and didn't need to extend there shots to hurt him. Cotto isn't a Tszyu like puncher. His power comes from heavy hands and accuracy. He can do damage with short punches as well. Manny Steward calls him one of the best short distance punchers he's seen since Mike Tyson.

Anyway, I'd love to see this fight materialize. I think Hatton would be an excellent confidence builder for Miguel because stylistically, he's made to order. Hatton is a sucker for jabs and left hooks. He easily cuts, and has shown to be vulnerable to a good body attack.

Totally agree with you here. Maybe people put too much into the whole Cotto was wieght drained at Jr WW thing. And maybe he is really that vunlerable and glass jawed. (I doubt that) but if thats the way you are looking at it then yeah it would be right there to see.

Beyond that though, he thing that to me is the most important factor here is more Ricky's ability to take the shots of a fully welterwieght Cotto. Just don't see him doing that. And out skilling him would be hard too (considering he basically out skilled Mosely). So if ricky can't out bang him and he can't out box'em and he can't take his shots. I'd say he's got a steep hill to climb.

Faster then shane??? NO busier yes. Shane is old and his reflexes arent what they were that being said it takes him longer to get his shots off.

As far as it being a no-brainer isnt that what most of you said about his fight with Margo??? As I recall you could put all of us people that picked Margo to win that fight on a very small bus, maybe even a mini-van(damn I hate those ****ing things  )

Are you saying that Margo=Hatton? Because I swear that there is a height and chin differential between both fighters. Not to mention, Margarito is the busier fighter.
