How long has it been since he's been in the ring? and he's moving up how many weight classes? That's a bad script
Napoles-Monzon was definitely an incredibly thrilling fight at the time, though with the caveat Mantequilla being a relatively small welterweight, and Escopeta being quite sturdy for a middleweight. I don't think Charlo's current activity and accomplishments warrant similar excitement.
I don't disagree with either of you.. Monzon and Napoles were upper echelon all time greats. I'm more talking about the fact that undisputed against undisputed rarely happens and that I felt too many people were focusing on who Canelo and Charlo weren't fighting instead of enjoying this relatively rare opportunity.
Canelos going to roll through Charlo. Canelo looks in great shape right now. Its gonna be BJS esque, where Charlo gets broken, and probably doesnt fight for a couple years after.
You can tell Charlo is scared even when he says he is going to win he doesn't sound his usual confident self his voice is different and he is being more respectful to Canelo than any other opponent, sort of in a way saying to Canelo "please take it easy on me" but he is shaking in this video because he knows he is going to get hurt i think his game plan is just to survive the 12 rounds he keeps telling himself all I gotta do is survive and collect my 7 figure pay check.
I agree with a lot of your points especially describing Charlos altered demeanor, It does seem like Charlo wants to box him & look for his openings with Canelo by really using the ring laterally, I could see Canelo surprising Charlo by coming at him in the opening bell too.
i too believe alvarez will win this one. but let's not forget Mel can bang. it would not surprise me if charlo gets a win here.
It's odd that nobody here gives Charlo a real chance of winning but outside there seems to be no shortage of people predicting an upset.
