Pick the BEST retirement fight for all of boxing's faded superstars. Try to match them as closely to going out WINNING and NOT against a young lion who will **** them up:

De La Hoya-- Yory Boy Campas or John Duddy at 154. Duddy is the best because he is the same weight and is undefeated and a UD waiting to happen.

Roy Jones-- hard one. He got three wins by fighting guys from the lower weight classes, but even at this stage I can't see him taking out Tarver or Clinton Woods...or even Danny Green...Danny Green maybe he could beat...I would go with Shaun George as an opponent or even Chris Byrd at 175 or another top 25 guy who isn't a viable name.

Vernon Forrest-- could maybe beat anyone out there right now if he trains right...has a good camp. BUT if his training slips, or his body slips, he could easily lose to anyone. In a perfect world I would give him DLH.

I thought that Diaz was a good opponent for Morales last fight because it was close, but Morales beat him. On the other hand, McBride was a total **** matchup for Tyson's farewell fight-- a tall, heavy fighter...and even worse was using Jeff Fenech as the trainer.

A top class fighter deserves to go out with dignity and maybe a win...great fighters have one great fight left in them.

Oscar vs Campas for a sure win
Roy Jones vs Shaun George for a sure win,Woods ain't coming close to Roy again
Vernon vs Verno Phillips altough it's a close fight
I agree fighters should go out with a win

As much as Roy Jones is a fraud he would beat Woods. Woods looked terrible against Tarver. Shaun George would brutally KO Roy.

The way George fought Byrd, i agree Jones may be in trouble.

Vinny Paz did it best. He chose a tough guy who would give him a hard bloody fight, and got his 50th Win, and out. Sugar Ray Leonard did it worst, people now remebmber him for Camacho punking his ass. Duran at least lasted 12, was a double tough SOB, and it was a car crash that retired him, not Camacho. Tapia's was handled HORRID by an idiot named Fresquez, who would have a hard time organizing a Boy Scout Picnic. Tapia's opponent was changed about 4 times in 2 days, and finally, a guy 2 weight divisions lower was chosen who was too fast for a 44 year old Johnny. Johnny got the "W" but went out with a fizz instead of a bang. Oscar should have retired on a high note against Mayorga, but is too stupid, ignorant and GREEDY to do that.

Glen will keep going. BUt he never was a superstar or even a star...and he got robbed repeatedly. A big cash fight is what he needs, win or lose.

    DLH vs Glen Johnson anybody?

These are the fights I believe these fighters should leave on..

Bernard Hopkins vs Roy Jones Jr
Oscar De La Hoya/Shane Mosley vs Vernon Forrest
Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Marquez III

As both of these fighters will lose this year (RJJ and Hoke) I think a Grand Finale between the two would be great for late 2009.

    De La Hoya-JCC Jr.
    Mosley-Clottey
    Toney-Briggs
    MAB-Edwin Valero
    Hopkins-Diaconu
    Casamayor-David Diaz
    Winky-Abraham

Other than DLH-JCC Jr (which is because of the history and because Oscar is just several classes above Jr. generally), these are all matchups where they should be able to win based on respective styles.
