    That is not unique. There are claims it can be seen on the ring apron on the film. Of course, all this is disputed, and the "train tie" is explained away as a cigar.

    There is newspaper evidence that the injuries to Willard were exaggerated. Willard was long laid off, fat and not in the best shape, and wide open to Dempsey's punches almost from the beginning. No need for a bolt or cement in his gloves to account for the blood and swelling.
