That was a relatively easy fight for Paul when he followed the gameplan of keeping Margo at bay. He somehow let up during rounds 8-11 but when his corner woke him up at the 12th he was cruisin easy again.

I was talking about how I saw the fight ... there were close rounds but I think after Margarito had his "moment" he didn't follow through with anything and didn't win those close rounds convincingly to me.

How did you see the fight Pharaoh?

    I saw it 8-4

    Paul winning 1-7 and 12.

Round 8 would have been his except for the bull**** at the very end. Round 9, he was cruising a little and realized that Margo's power had waned a little. Round 10 he got caught pretty good, but managed to keep it close. Round 11 was a heavy Margo Round. He took it to Paul and hit him with a lot of good shots. Paul's chin is severely underestimated, and this Round should prove to the naysayers that Paul can stand in there if necessary. Round 12 was the most lopsided. End of story 8-4.

    No controversy whatsoever.

Aint it weird how Margarito doesn't want to fight Williams anymore? ... he's not the type of fighter to redeem himself?

    What kinda warrior is that?

    When did he say that?

Shame if that's true. I would love to see a true unification at 147. I dont think it was a close fight but IMO it was competitive enough to deserve a rematch.

He didn't mention anything about redeeming himself against Williams last night in an interview ...

He called out DLH ... obviously looking for a big money fight, but thats not going to happen.

Just like PBF ... DLH's career is secure and his legacy is set ... he doesn't need Margarito.

This fight really showed that Margarito wasn't the fighter that he was put out there to be.

I also think that Joshua Clottey before Williams had gave Margarito a whirl --

Agreed. Williams fought Margo the way Cotto should have. But then again, Cotto lacks that kind of movement. I think Willams beats Margo again. But I think Clottey now beats all of them.

I agree ... I think Clottey when its all said and done could be the undisputed welterweight champion.

Clottey is a tank. Yeah his style is not flashy, but so what? He is the only guy out there right now who has a chance against Williams. Margarito theoretically has a chance, but since he would rather fight retired boxers, I guess we will never see.

Bob Arum and HBO seem to want to keep that **** an underground classic...

    Harold Lederman, HBO: Williams, 116-112
Kevin Iole, Yahoo! Sports: Margarito, 116-112
Tim Smith, New York Daily News: Draw, 114-114
Steve Springer, Los Angeles Times: Draw, 114-114
Bill Dwyre, Los Angeles Times: Margarito, 115-113
    Steve Kim, MaxBoxing.com: Margarito, 115-113
    Doug Fischer, MaxBoxing.com: Margarito, 115-113

Williams connected with more weak shots while the Margo hit him with the more damaging and effective punches. It depends which you value more.
