Every single opponent/sparring partner of Beterbiev said the same thing. Beterbiev needs more hype This content is protected
Canelo power is okish, what he lacks really is skill, footwork and elite cardio. He overestimate himself and try to power his way, and also didn't change a thing through the whole fight. Which speaks for a lack of elite ring IQ too. Zero adaptation to change the outcome. He just relies on the corrupt judges to give him the win. And then he claim he won the fight, when he was literally schooled 10-2 is the best score you can make a case for him. And 2 round are somehow a gift for him. This wasn't close fight at all.
He needs a big name dance partner otherwise he'll just go down as a mythical figure in boxing history being placed in fantasy matches. It wont be Canelo. Its Bivol or Zurdo next after Yarde.
he gets plenty of hype. the same people that hype him, for the most part, crap all over spence and bud for not fighting. bivol been an unbeaten champ for 5 years now. i like beve, hes a bad ass, like i like bud and spence. bivol, i could take or leave. and all 4 **** me off for not fighting each other. but only 2 get dragged through the mud about it. so hes got his hype.
You keep telling yourself that! Bivol was in such control I'm not sure he ever went in the pool past waist level, let alone being fully submerged in "deep waters"
The problem was not a lack of a plan the problem was that he was almost knocked out. Bivol was jabbing straight through his guard, he was just trying to hear the final bell. That was what really disappointed me about the performance. When GGG came after him and did damage, say what you will about the judging, Canelo fought to win. He took some chances, he kept working after he recovered, IIRC he won some of the later rounds in both of the first two fights. I think his reputation for setting traps and playing possum were what saved him. You could see him sucking wind on the ropes and you could see the wheels turning in Bivol's mind like "he looks hurt, but I've seen this BS routine on tape, better play it safe." I also believe he was having hand/wrist problems in that fight. Doesn't excuse the loss but if he comes back strong from this surgery it would renew my interest in a rematch.
Nqh bro, it's a big skill difference between the two. Bivol defense is next level, Bivol is also way faster and his cardio is just next level compare to Canelo. Bivol also has higher ring IQ. I don't buy a s... about Canelo being injured or so. This is some next level b. c. excuse. They can rematch 10 more times and the result will be the same.

Blind? Biased? Here are some clips to open your eyes as to the kind of things that happened in this fight that you fail to observe, then claim I'm blind and biased. What it is Serge is I pay attention to the finer points of boxing. Now I bring this to your attention, please tell me you see this because when shown with the footage it would be hard for you to deny. Dmitry felt the power, he made that very clear in the post fight: This content is protected Look at the head movement and Canelo's ability to make Bivol miss here in this clip: This content is protected Count how many punches missed from Bivol in this clip. Very few landed, most were slipped or missed by Bivol entirely. This is high level evasion Serge. You need to pay attention to this so you understand how difficult of a time Bivol had due to how slippery Canelo is, combined with how hard he punches, which Bivol admitted after the fight ws the case. This was not an easy 12 rounds for Bivol as you and many others want to pretend it was. That's being biased against Canelo by not paying attention to everything. We both agree about how good Bivol is, the difference is you don't seem to respect or appreciate how good Canelo is. He was P4P #1 at the time for reason. You seem to think he was just some average fighter. Get real. Of course Canelo met his match with Bivol and he ran out of steam in the mid to late rounds. He got tagged with some great shots by Bivol. But being tagged was in the midst of him landing some big shots on Bivol and making him miss a ton. People only want to focus on the tmes where Bivol was able to catch Canelo, while ignoring how often Canelo was making him miss and landing solid punches. This was a highly competitive fight and Bivol's own comments indicate that was the case. As was the case for much of the night, Canelo was the alpha here, walking down Bivol, with punching and with Bivol retreating to the ropes covering up. That's what you do when your opponent has power. Bivol was defensively responsible in there because he had to be. You know better. The footage doesn't lie.
He said that he don't have heavy hands, just like Canelo don't have heavy hands. I know russian and don't try to twist his words. He said in the interview, in russian and then in english, somebody helped him.
Did you hear the thud from that Canelo right hand in the link I posted in post #44? He hits hard, clearly. Bivol made it very clear that Canelo has good power and that he felt that power.
Is there a big difference between good and decent in english ? Because in russian Bivol was saying that Canelo had decent power for LHW, which is pretty good compliment for Canelo.
