Rounds 3, 10, 11 and 12 weren't close. They were each clear Canelo rounds. You only have Canelo winning 1 non-close round the entire match and have GGG winning 5 non-close rounds? You could argue GGG won rounds 4 5 and 6 but each was extremely close and difficult for many people to score. Up until the last minute of the 5th round, it was all Canelo. Canelo outlanded GGG in the 5th but I gave that round to GGG simply because GGG finally did something and landed that shot with Canelo on the ropes and had some decent offense in the final minute. But the 4th and the 5th could both go to Canelo for a clean Canelo sweep after 5 or 6 rounds if you give Canelo a close 6th.

For rounds 10 and 11, to give GGG both of those rounds is baffling. For round 10 the argument is that Canelo didn't do anything for the last 2 minutes. This mindset represents a failure of understanding how a round is scored. It is not divided into 3 separate minutes where if you win 2 minutes and lose the 3rd minute you win because you won more minutes. It's about punches landed, whenever they occur in the round. Canelo landed a ton more clean effective punches in the first minute than GGG landed in the entire round, Canelo built an insurmountable lead in the first minute and that it why he outboxed in the last 2 minutes because he knew he was so far ahead in the round from what he did in the first minute. GGG wasn't capable of evening up that round after the pummeling he took in the first minute. He was made to look silly chasing Canelo out of desperation for the next 2 minute. He knew he had lost the round and GGG was getting desperate at this point.

Round 11 - it's inexplicable to score this round to GGG. I would be very interested to know what your reasoning is here. Almost everybody universally had Canelo winning the last 3 rounds.

First was clear GGG win. Wasn't close.

Second was Canelo in a close fight.

No reasonable person would argue the first match wasn't close. Practically everyone universally considered the fight close.

Yep, and most people had GGG winning a close fight. Most reasonable ones of course so you can excuse yourself.

Choosing who to score a close fight in favor of is harder to do than to conclude if a fight is close or not. Knowing that it was a close fight is obvious. It was not obvious who won since there were many hard to score rounds and it can be debated and rationalized either way.

We can disagree on who we thought deserved the win, but we can all agree that it was close.

I can't really respond to the whole post here but this is my opinion I'm not an official judge I don't remember my exact reasoning for each round but I gave each round to whoever I thought was controlling the action landing the more and cleaner shots and effectively defending. Scoring rounds is completely subjectoive I thought GGG in the rounds that he won comfortable cut off the ring effectively and Canelo landed some nice counters but GGG was outlanding and outboxing him for rounds 4-9 and then it became a lot closer for the last 3 rounds. Canelo was countering well in the first 3 but GGGs effective pressuring and defense made them close for the most part.

Not for me. I think GGG won the first fight but I wouldn't call it a robbery. It was very close.

Second fight I thought Canelo won and it wasn't as close as the first fight.

He defended the WBA super 15 times ( 13 ) by KO. which is the 2nd best in middleweight history. Add in the regular title defenses and he holds the record with 20. Hopkins only had 19, because you must deduct his no contest. Deal with it. Sturm ran from him, then lost to Geale, then Geale gave up the belt to prevent a humiliating loss, Canelo did the same. These belts accumulation thru fear alone was impressive. Sturms conqueror Geale later fought GGG and got what they were both trying to avoid, the inevitable total destruction. After Canelo waited a year and a half, he lost as well and they called it a draw.

Canelo don't deserve the last 3 rounds because he did more than in the other rounds. He has to have did more than GGG but he didn't. I did give Canelo round 12, but not 10 and 11.
