Rewatched Calzaghe-Lacy

Surely talent = skill, be it natural or not?

also if skill is meaning to do something you imply that Calzaghe accidently used good footwork :huh

Enzo Calzaghe is a supremely sucessful trainer, he makes up a lot of the brain -fullstop-

 

I honestly believe Calzaghe beat Lacy so convincingly everyones perception of Lacy is now that he wasn't any good.

Calzaghe's a unique fighter. The way he moves, punches, excites. We should treasure these when they come along.

 

These people's heart are blinded by hate,so any rational thinking or objective observations aren't possible.

 

I actually wasn't as amazed by Calzaghe after rewatching the fight last night. Now that the shock has worn down, I saw that of course he was ridiculously dominant, but he didn't batter Lacy around as cleanly as I'd remembered. Don't think I'm saying he didn't batter Lacy handedly or that I wasn't very impressed; Lacy's face and wheezing after the fight speak for themselves.

I guess I'm saying that, sort of like Kelly Pavlik, it doesn't look at face value like the things he's doing are all that spectacular, but they produce amazing results. He's obviously doing a lot right, and I wouldn't change a thing with those results, but it doesn't look as impressive as far as CLEAN punching goes as I'd have expected.

 

I dont think Joe could have done any better than that fight, seriously every time I watch that ****ing fight my hands hurt, he beat the living **** out of Jeff, what amazed me was not only the beating he dished out, but the beating Lacey was able to take all night

 

Joe broke his hand in round 7....
