i disagree that cotto won the 9th.

but i disagree with mosley winning the 7th.

although the 7th is probably the closest of cotto's middle rds that he won.

on the night i had it a draw.

    Round 1 - Cotto 10-9 ( Cotto 17-50 (11-33 jabs), Mosley 11-44(3-31
    jabs).
    Round 2 - Mosley 10-9 ( Mosley 15-27 (56%), Cotto 15-27 (41%)).
Round 3 - Mosey 10-9 (21-73 Mosley & 21-70 Cotto but big right hand Mosley 1:45s left on clock).
    Round 4 - Cotto 10-9 ( Cotto 31-69 (45%), Mosley 24-74(32%)).
    Round 5 - Cotto 10-9 ( thru 5 rds Cotto 114-304 (38%), Mosley 112-335 (33%)).
    Round 6 - Cotto 10-9 (Cotto 58-165 (35%), Mosley 40-239(17%))
Round 7 - Mosley 10-9 (Cotto 22 - 62, Mosley 22-66, Cotto lunging with punches, Shane too many short right hand on his toes, bouncing).
    Round 8 - Cotto 10-9 (Cotto 20-51 (39%), Mosley 16-52 (32%)) -Until this point exactly like HBO 77-75 Cotto.
    Round 9 - Shane 10-9 (Cotto 14-33 (42%), Mosley 17-35(49%))
Round 10 - Even Round 10-10 ( Shane has Miguel thru the ropes with rights early, chants Mosley and crown on its feet 2:38s left on the clock, good finish Cotto with excelent counters like left out of southpaw stance - see replay in slow motion end of round).
Round 11 - Cotto 10-9 ( Thru 11 Rounds Cotto 236-632 (37%), Mosley 236-722 (33%) Cotto vesatile getting out of the ropes, countering big with right hands).
Round 12 - Even Round ( Shane pressuring Cotto with his back against the ropes but Shane reluctant to c'mon due to Cotto's powerful counters) - Final Score: 116-114

Notes: Spanish/English fluent speaking Ref Benjy Estevez did well to stop the action to clean Cotto's corner with 1:55s left on the clock in round 10 cause Shane slips and goes down by himself on that same spot 1:39 s left in round 12).

Shane and Mosley with a lot of mutual respect, Shane gets accidentally thumbed in the eye with :51 s left in the clock in round 12, Cotto stops and they touch gloves).

Cotto said that he backed away from round 9 cause he threw hard punches to knock anyone out but Shane kept comin n comin n Miguel got "excited" n stopped lookin for a knockout, he knew through his corner that he was ahead ( but Evangelista said be careful cause he's coming in desperate), he said he's ready to fight all the big names.

Shane Mosley did acknowledge defeat when the decision was announced ( Glenn Feldman 116-113; Wynn Kintz & Peter Trematerra -115-113), said Cotto mixes up well boxing with fighting, that it was a close fight where Cotto buzzed him with some short lefts but he also had Cotto hurt a coupla times, he takes his hat to the young warrior n that he's not getting any younger n waits for the Mayweather-Hatton outcome since the division is so tight.

Max Kellerman said and rightfully that it was a great fight, the decision could have gone either way and that Cotto didn't impose his will on Shane like against Judah ( Coto acknowledged that cause he backed away at the end and never came on like in June 9) but the other way around - Shane is stronger than Zab. Shane caught Cotto too many times with rights over the top ( Mosley 177 power punches out of 335 thrown ( 53% astonishing percentage), Cotto 150 out of 387 (39%)). Cotto caught Shane too many times with counter jabs, left hooks and counter rights ( Cotto's jabs - 98 out of 288 thrown (34%), Mosley 71 out of 439 thrown (16%) - Shane just pawed with a snappy jab to set up big overhand rights) - Final total punches confirm the fight was fought toe to toe ( Cotto and Shane exactly with 248 punches landed - Mosley threw more 774 to Cotto's 675 ( Cotto with higher percentage obviously 37% to 32%)).

I scored it a draw at first 114-114 but Cotto did take the 11th round and Shane did not convincingly take the 12th as some may think he took the 10th. The doubt in the last 3 rounds can make it a 115-113 win for either way, a draw or even a larger ( no more than three points) decision for Cotto. The people who measure the intensity or impact of the blows, even being at MSG, are just tryin to make it their way. Cotto won but definitely Mosley made it extemelly close and Judah is never Cotto's toughest challenge to date ( neither is Ricardo Torres who could have lost to Kendall Holt too).
