Have you even seen his fight with Paul Williams? No one really jumped off his bandwagon after that fight. If they had, he'd have never gotten the Cotto fight. He even asked for a rematch to that fight, and when he didn't get one he went on to KO Cintron spectacularly. The guy simply goes out and does what he has to do.
Margarito yeah his skills maynot be that of a mayweather or other fighters but that chin is a great leveller and it discourages a lot of fighters. Thats What I think happened to cotto his shots were peaches and they were bouncing off him margarito and not affecting him and then his own bombs were having a great affect on a leg weary cotto.
I agree with this. There is a distinctive difference between Floyd's performances at 140 and his performances at 147 and the lone 154 fight. People innacurately seem to lump them all together, but he handled the bigger fighters at 140 less cautiously than he has fought everyone at 147.
NOT REALLY...THE LAME ASSES ARE THESE "GROWN ASS MEN" WHO STILL BELIEVE IN FICTION...YOU MAKE IT OUT LIKE ITS IMPOSSIBLE FOR MARGO TO GET HURT...ISNT HE HUMAN? LAST I CHECKED HE'S BEEN HURT BEFORE AND HAS 5 LOSSES...MAYBE MARGO SHOULD COME OUT WITH HIS OWN MARVEL COMIC SO HE COULD HAVE THE NUT-TARZANS LINEUP AT MIDNIGHT FOR THE RELEASE...NEXT WERE GONNA HEAR MARGO CAN BEAT ANYONE FROM 147-160...I GET IT NOW MARGO IS "THE BEST FIGHTER IN THE WORLD CAUSE HIS CHIN IS THE BEST IN THE HISTORY OF BOXING AND HE'S BEEN BEATING GUYS HIS OWN SIZE AND/OR BIGGER HIS WHOLE CAREER..." SORRY I GOT IT NOW MARGO IS A HALL OF FAMER AND THE BEST FIGHTER IN THE HISTORY OF BOXING...LOL atsch
Yes, it was the low blows that broke Cotto's nose and snorting blood. No one's really claiming that he can't be made to look bad. He's fought Clottey and Clottey was completely outboxing him before he seemingly hurt his hand. After that Margarito took care of business. He's also fought Williams and while he didn't win, he wasn't made to look awful. You say this like you've made a good point. Bullying wins is how the guy wins. Not all fighters are boxers and fighters like him eventually hit a wall, so what? Real boxing fans aren't sitting there like pretentious bitches waiting and hoping for that to happen so that they can point their fingers and go "see see, I told you so". Their simply watching him fight his balls off in each and every fight and appreciating what the guy does. He fought and lost to Williams in one of the better fights of 2007. His performance actually raised his profile because of how valiantly he fought and how he eventually wore Williams down. And his fans definitely didn't jump off his bandwagon after that fight. A lot of limited fighters with great chins are regarded very highly. Rocky Marciano, LaMotta, Arturro Gatti, Micky Ward were all boxers who's fans worshipped them, and from the highly regarded (Marciano-LaMotta) to the lesser regarded (Gatti, Ward), their fans never remember them as being hypejobs. And calling someone that didn't just beat Cotto, but battered and broke him down, the "ultimate hypejob", well, that's just plain stupid considering how many other classically hyped fighters there have been in history. Ever heard of Gerry Cooney. You're entitled to your opinion, but your statements are simply hyperbole.
Noone thinks he can't be hurt, they are simply amazed at the punishment that he has proved to be able to take. His first 3 losses came very early in his career when he was getting shitty cards in Mexico, when he was 16 or 17. That's why you don't hear people being too critical of his early losses. And you're just being silly if you're saying people think he can beat anyone from 147-160 because if there has been any major criticism of Margarito it's how unimpressive he's been when he moved up to fight Luhan at 154. Noone said anything about him being the best fighter in the history of boxing. What exactly are you talking about?
i think its obvious he has limited boxing skill but boxing is not just about skill its about heart and desire and margarito has the heart of a lion
I agree with this 100%.:thumbsup Margarito ain't Superman, but he doesn't have to be in order to beat Cotto 10 times out of 10.
when I watched this fight last night, I was thinking to myself "if mosley can put the first few rounds in the books, and make it go the distance, he has a good chance of getting the W" also I think cotto being a natural left hander was a bit of a factor in this fight
I just watched the Margo Clottey replay & scored it 116-112 for Margo. I know Clottey injured a finger on one hand (not a broken hand), but he was out of gas in the last 3 rounds. He will never beat Margo even if he does not break a finger. Margo had more skills that given credit for along with his super human chin! Thats why he is a top 10 p4p.:hi:
