So do you rate Clottey above Cotto? I mean, he is the one with a chnce of beating Margo as opposed to Cotto....

Actually I don't really hate Cotto. I just think he's overhyped as hell. He has NEVER taken a belt from anyone. NEVER! NEVER! And people act like he's the next Sugar Ray or something.

And as far as them facing off, you can forget that. There ain't no way in ****ing hell Arum lets that clown anywhere near PW.

I was referring to Clottey...but hell I'll take both avy bets. :smoke

As far as the enlarged text...NO NO AND NO!:bart I'm obviously a Cotto fan and NEVER did I (or other more devote fans of Cotto) think he can touch the floor of SRR/L...People were making him out to be the next big PR star...like Trinidad. Nothing more.

He's a great fighter and his loss has put him into great perspective for many viewers and fans alike, but in no way do I think he's finished or crushed or doesn't stand a chance in the rematch, it will be a tough challenge and one that might even be controversial. But I think he can do it

As far as hype job...eh...maybe...we'll have to see what happens to him in next following fights before slapping him with such a label. I've already made that mistake with Hatton and he's proved me wrong, I still think he's a bit overrated but definitely not a hype job.

    This one I AGREE!

I wanted Cotto to win I thought he was invincible. LoL!
    Obviously I was wrong!

Props to Margarito to demolishing Cotto! Damn! Looks could really be deceiving at times!

If there was a Cotto vs Margarito II. i'd be betting on Margarito this time.

Nope.. in fact in a matchup between the two I'd favor Cotto over Clottey and I'd probably favor Cotto over Williams as well... but styles make fights, and in his fight with Margo, Clottey was teeing off on Antonio in those first few rounds even better than Cotto was.

So if Clottey can produce that kind of effort in a rematch and ride out that stamina problem of his, he could possibly pull it off and get the win over Margo.

Cotto on the other hand isn't big or strong enough to bang with Tony on the inside, nor is he a good enough a boxer to stay away from him for a full 12 rounds. In a rematch Miguel would be KOed even sooner IMO.

Wish him well in a rematch but having it next summer will cut his career short.

Good observation on the Floyd needing space thing. I think that would be a factor to some degree though I still see Mayweather pullin' it off. The sad part about this is that I, like many others on this site or so I read, doubt we're ever gonna see it. I hope they eventually prove me wrong, quite naturally.

OK I just rewatched the fight myself and turned it on mute to negate the HBO commentators biasedness.

I scored the fight initially the same up until the middle rounds.

Results were 115-113 Cotto. Couldn't believe it myself. He was robbed :-(

something I noticed after rewatching this fight and Pac/JMM II tonight

In Pac/JMM II, JMM gets a small cut on his head and is barely bleeding but Bayless stops the fight to get the cut checked by the doctor.

In Cotto/Margo, Cotto has a big gash on his head completely covering his head with blood but Bayless seemed in so much of a rush to continue the fight asap without getting the cut checked.

Exellent post, I agree with every word of it!

......and what makes Margarito even more dangerous, is that when he misses a shot and fall a bit off balance, he'll throw a shot even if its off the wrong foot......and I've seen so many instances where he's landing such blows and proceeds to follow them up non-stop with better shots as he shuffles his feet to where they should be.

Chin, workrate, stamina, and heavy hands........Grade A on all of those.......I'll take my chances with that over just pure skill any day of the week.

......of course Mayweather brings much more than just skill to the table, and thats what makes this matchup so intrigueing to me.

Mayweather-Margarito is the matchup I'd most like see in the coming year!

I want to find out what Mayweather does against the Grade A stuff I mentioned, plus the sheer will of Antonio Margarito!

In the Marquez fight, Bayless stopped the action as soon as Marquez was butted because Marquez held his glove to the cut.......

.....something of that nature probably did'nt happen with Margarito......if I'm not mistaken, the cut on Cotto was caused by a punch......I'm sure Bayless took a look at it after the round.

......you dont just stop action when a fighter causes a cut with a punch......you wait till theres a lull in the action or when the round ends.

As much as I don't care for Margie....you have to give the man his credit.
( believe me I am a Margie hater......just like I was a John Elway hater....
I couldn't stand him, but I wished he was on my team ).
