Yeah by an uppercut in the 2nd round of the first fight but I thought he was about to go down in one of the Wright fights? I'll rewatch and find out.
He went down twice in the 2nd round of the first Forrest fight. After watching the two Forrest fights I think Forrest's dominance over Mosley is a bit overstated. I was quite impressed with Mosley in the 2nd Wright fight. He made it close, he finished strong and it was competitive the whole way through. And that was at 154 where Wright was at his best (IMO, one of the best H2H at the weight) and Mosley was over his best weight.
He even made the rematch with Forrest a little closer. There could've been more to that fight. Way too much clinching in it.
Exactly, nobody should apoligize for having the correct score which is 116-112 Cotto, though 115-113 Cotto is perfectly acceptable.
So true. This is the kind of rematch boxing fans deserve. More people would have tuned in for the 2nd bout. They missed that one...
I honestly think Mosley could have won the re-match if he wasn't so shell-shocked from the beating he took in the first fight. A beating that may very well never had taken place were it not for that head-butt.
I had it a draw. The crowd was backing Cotto 90% to 10% for Mosley so that influences things a little. No problem with the decision but I just could not see it as clear win. A close win, but not clear. Mosley won 3 of the last 4 rounds. Mosley deserved a rematch. They landed the same amount of punches. In the end, Cotto got the verdict, not complaints, just a good close fight.
What's so non-objective about it, other then that you disagree? Mosley won 2 of the last 4 rounds on my card, round 9 and 11 for Cotto and Mosley rounds 10 and 12. Whats funny is that round 12 could have swung Cotto's way also. There's no way this fight was a draw much less a Mosley win. As far as the crowd goes, it wasn't as pro Cotto as you and San Rafael are trying to make it out to be because if you watch the 10th round in which Mosley won you would hear the crowd chant Mosley! Mosley! If the Cotto contingent was louder it was because Cotto landed the sharper neck snapping punches in the fight that caught the crowds attention.
I just rewatched Mosley-Wright 1 and I brought up Mosley being against the ropes and I was right! He toke a wild swing in the 12th and almost fell over and the ropes helped him stay up. It wasn't a punch that made Mosley stumble it was him being off balance by throwing a wild shot. I'm about to see the rematch again now! I'll rewatch the Cotto fight sometime this week.
