Cribb is definitely overrated on this forum. He left himself open to body shots and pawed with his jab waaaay too often against Molineaux. Not to mention that his footwork was all over the place. A good counterpuncher would give him fits.

If Klitschko could travel back two hundred years, he'd destroy Cribb.

Anybody else who's seen the fight is free to comment.

I've got a film dating back 199 years ago - looks like somebody must unlock the secret of time travel in the next few months - (said in the commentary it was something to do with that Large Hadron Collidor Thing in Switzerland) - Klit does get sent back - the film I've got is them having a gentle sparring session with the mufflers on - it's that gitter-bug type film reel shot from far away so its difficult to assess but I'd say Cribbs style was giving Klit fits but I think he was holding a bit back in reserve :yep

Bull****! Cribb was just a very subtly skilled technician, and Molineux's awkwardness threw him off. He'd pick off Wladmir's punches and make him quit late the way Ross Puritty did. :deal

After reviewing my Tyson vs. Cribb sparring DVD, I have to admit that you're right. Cribb's a lot faster than I expected.

See! People today who talk about these young bucks like Joe Louis and Max Baer, just aren't familiar enough with the finer points of boxing to recognize Cribb's greatness.

I wa pleasantly surprised myself, though I question the wisdom of brandy and champagne in the corner.

Champagne and Brandy? Sounds a luxury to myself...

I question Gully, Ward & Richmond, Jones in opposing corners... :D

A notably Divine choice IMO... Did you pay no attention to the ease at which he 'parted' both fighters??? Claret as far as the eye could Sea..

Molineaux vs Cribb I is an overrated fight in my opinion. Cribb should have been disqualified by the way.

Cribb is perhaps the first fighter that you could compare to a modern champion in terms of his level of organisation and aplication to his sport.

He might be the first heavyweight that you could justify putting in the ring with Wladamir Klitschko under a given ruleset.
