Rewatched Danny Garcia vs Lucas Martin Matthysse

Thought it was closer than the commentary, the knockdown should count but it was more of a knee to avoid punishment than an actual knockdown

Thought the fight was ok considering the build up and styles it was a little less action packed than the all out war I anticipated

The bout was a close one for weight class supremacy and screams rematch

 

Bottom line: Garcia got the W in a tough exciting fight and everyone in the boxing world would like to see a rematch except for Garcia, his dad, and a few forum trolls. Pretty much all you need to know.

garcia did win but needs to be called for his low blows all the time

 

garcia is just a better boxer. Eventhough mathysse packs quite a punch and is harder hitting. it was garcia who hurt mathysse, much more then mathysse hurt him. Mathysse face was messed up and he was knocked down.

I was surprised by garcia, i actually thought he would get beat by mathysse, but i had him winning 7-5 or 8-4 + knockdown. An excellent performance bu a very good boxer.

I like garcia, seems like he doesnt exel in one area, but i´d say his timing is great and perhaps one of the best in boxing. He is by no means fast, his power is good, has good defence, but its his timing that made him k.o a speedster in khan and it was his timing that made the difference against a power puncher in mathysse. Khan and mathysse represent to very different styles, but garcia really impressed in both, as his ability to pick and time his shots made the difference.
