the jab quetion doesnt really matter, If Fraud took the jab away he deserved the win . . .if DLH stopped jabbing he deserved to lose. . . either way Fraud wins and DLH loses. The real loser is the fans for putting up with the hype that led to a dud and even worse the rematch of the dud.
Why? Since when does his word mean a lot? "I'm going back down to welterweight"- 2005 "I've been at 147 for a month and a half"- before the Forbes fight, which he weighs in at 150.5 "The rematch with Mayweather will be at 150"- after the Forbes fight "Tyson should apologize. When I fought Whitaker, I didn't blame my trainers or anyone. I blamed myself for having a poor gameplan"- Summer of 1997, after Tyson's bite. "Don't blame me, blame my trainers"- 2000 "I'm in the best shape of my life"- before the Sturm fight.
I scored this fight a draw when I saw it first time, with a swing round to Floyd the second time to end up with 115-113. It's the same as Calzaghe vs Hopkins in my view. The rounds that Hopkins won, he won definitively because he landed effective shots, put Calzaghe down and minimised damage taken. But he just didn't do it enough to win the fight, I struggled to give Hopkins four rounds, I found it easy to give Joe eight and felt he could have taken one of the other rounds I gave to Hopkins. With De La Hoya vs Floyd, Floyd wasn't firing as many shots early in the fight, whilst he was landing cleaner, De La Hoya was pressuring him more, pushing him back and landing punches. I actually gave ODLH the first 5 rounds and one of the later rounds, giving them a 6-6 draw. My second watching, I gave ODLH the first five rounds and Floyd the rest. Scoring a boxing fight isn't scoring the ENTIRE fight, it's scoring round bt round sections of the fight. A fighter could SCRAPE past for seven rounds and be dominated the other five and still win the fight, that's something you have to remember.
I'm betting DLH will make the rematch a much closer fight, I'll look forward to it. He was winning the last one untill he forgot the Jab!
If you're having success with throwing a jab why would you forget about it like you claim. If Oscar just forgot about throwing his jab that he was landing then he must one of the dumbest fighters in history. The truth is PBF took his jab away.:deal And in this rematch he'll do it even sooner.
Thats why I'd like to hear Oscar's take on that point, sometimes fighters are shut down from jabbing consistantly on other factors than the opponent. A consistant left jab over a long period can put a load on the shoulder lesions, and now Oscar would be aware that he controlled Mayweather with it the rematch could be interesting. He may condition himself accordingly. He only lost that fight in the last 3 rounds!
Probably right about the jab. Fatigue probably had to do with the taking away of the jab too. I just hope if fight #2 happens it's better than the first.
:good In fairness to Oscar,he said as much afterwards; He acknowledged Floyds major part in the jab being removed from the equation.
Don't forget AFTER he ran from Tito.............. 4 fights this year and 4 KO's, and then loses to Mosley (a lightweight):rofl
After watching it a few times, I think Mayweather won clearly. I also cannot figure out why everyone thinks that the left hook to the body, followed by a right hand to the head will work on Mayweather???? DLH and Hatton both repeatedly tried that BS. The way he rolls his body, especially the left shoulder they miss everytime. All the Mayweathers have that same move, and it seems to work on most people. I think the key to beat PBF is pressure (with head movement, not like Hatton) the jab, followed with a right to the body. It will hit mostly elbow for a few rds, but eventually slow him down. Making him there for head shots. I think Cotto is the only man to do it.
No. I contacted the Nevada State Athletic Commission the Monday after the fight, and DEMANDED Tom Kaczmarek's resignation, by way of INCOMPETENCE.
