Yes Fenech got his revenge in 2008. Azumah came to Australia and copped a loss by one round. Azumah said later that Fenech had promised to fight a draw.. a fixed fight. I guess 2 of the judges forgot what they were doing??? On top of that, Azumah was ****ed over financially too. Azumah on Fenech.. "He's not right, not normal". Suffice to say Fenech lost yet another friend.
Doesnt surprise you Fenech got him over here and screwed him two ways but does it? Jeff may be one of ouy best ever but as a person i couldnt give a rats if a bus hit him to be honest. A part of me enjoys watching that second fight and seeing Nelson absolutely outclass and KO Jeff.
LOL, I saw Tyson make Razor his girlfriend and kiss Ruddock's rubber lips.:hey Nelson was brilliant on the ropes, he met a primed Fenech, who was not worried about his hands, and neutralized the Thunder from Down Under. As for Ali, he is a personal hero of mine, I do not get why you think I disrespect him...:conf
Booze, I may be incorrect, although i was sure you questioned Ali's legacy some months ago... My mistake?? If so, I appologize. :good
Watched this 2 nights past had it 117-110 but Azumah was knackered very early and seemed so flat, from my own experiance when you run out of energy like that theres definitly somethign wrong and going to the ropes and making it a toe-to-toe fight confirms this as from my own experiancxes when your knackered and flat its so easy to get yourself in an inside fight and its not half as tiring as moving and punching when your tired
Azumah had malaria 1st fight, watch the second fight in australia, the professor turned on a master class
Jazz. I agree Nelson was unwell in Vegas. The return bout in Melbourne (I was there) was something different. The tables had turned. Fenech was a different man. He'd been messing about in training.. suffered his own flu-like symptoms in the week leading up to the bout. No excuse at all. Seeing that fight on tape now.. A total mis-match. Nelson boxed.. no rush, no stress and no difficulties. Fenech tried to man handle Azumah, as he did all opponents, yet to no effect. The transition is amazing.
Ive heard Nelson had just recovered from malaria as well during the first fight. But someone just recovering from this illness would have trouble getting around let alone fighting. Nelson just wasnt used too fighting someone of Fenech's style and would of lost regardless if he was ill or not
Of course its not. But people seemed so quick to believe one guy wasnt at his best and not as quick to believe another wasnt in the rematch. Regardless of the reasons both had outside issues that hindered them in the ring. Partying is not an excuse, not in the slightest but I choose to believe that the Jeff Fenech that took on Azumah in Las Vegas was not the same as the one who took him on in Melbourne...much like Azumah in Melbourne wasnt the same Azumah that took Jeff on the first time.
