I rewatched the Floyd vs Maidana fight I had to do this since there was alot of people thinking Maidana won or it was pretty close.

All the effective work was done by Mayweather and can't really say the same for Maidana. Sure he got in some good work in the early rounds but from about the round 5 and on Mayweather won the majority of the rounds. And also did the best work. When Maidana got close he didn't really land much he threw wild shots and Mayweather tied him up and then beat him up in the middle of the ring.

However it was an great effort by Maidana but Mayweather was the better man for sure.

So in the end I scored it 8-4 to Mayweather.

Have you rewatched it and how did you score it?

Rescored, watched in slow motion. It's 114-114.
    Maidana took 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12.

Before people say it was definitely a Mayweather win, those poeple should try and agree over what rounds he actually won, because I see that they cannot, so a Maidana victory 115-113 is actually very plausible.

    Mayweather 44-1-1

Yea mayweather was standing his ground and controlling the action and maidana with body shots.
mayweather 7 rounds to 5 at worst 8-4 at best.

Yeah I can do that but It's no where near a draw? Do you guys score rounds on just sheer agression or does it have to be some effective work in there aswell?

Well I think this happens alot when Mayweather fights. Sure a guy can have some sucess in the round and it all gets blown out of porportion because we seldome see Mayweather lose any round. So as soon as he's at the rope and the other guy wailing away with wild (note this) missing shots and some nice body shots people think that like 15-20 seconds of agression is going to win the round.

If you acually pay atention what both guys are doing Mayweather is always landing CLEAN shots. Shots that can't be argued with even in the round Maidana won. In the beginning after like 5-6 rounds it was a close fight then I had it even Mayweather up by a point. But still all the effective work was done by Mayweather so In my personal opinion I think Maywaether won it 8-4.

    Sounds about right to me.

Rounds 3 and 4 were very close. I gave round 3 to FLoyd for his effective punching and round 4 I gave to Maidana because FLoyd slowed down that round from the headbutt he received, his punch output decreased that round as he kept pawing at his eye when blood was trickling into it.

Between rounds 6-12 I only gave Maidana the 8th round and even that was relatively close- the only effective punches Maidana had that round was a low blow with his left hook that was followed by a left hook upstairs that landed cleanly.

Personally I had the fight at 8-4 but you can say it was a 7-5 or 9-3 fight and I wouldn't have an issue with it. I can't see how this fight was a draw, Maidana surely didn't win 6 rounds in that fight.

The only legal shots he landed throughout the night were clean body shots when FLoyd was pressed up on the ropes. Almost all of Maidana's attack upstairs was illegal, with at least 20 shots thrown to the back of FLoyd's head in the nape region. Those are illegal shots and Marcos should've been deducted accordingly.

I don't want to see a rematch because I have a strong feeling FLoyd will fight more similar to how he fought in the last 6 rounds of their first fight- utilize the center of the ring, use his lateral movement to side step Marcos anytime FLoyd is close to being pinned on the ropes, and avoid getting into long exchanges in the pocket with him.

I'd imagine a rematch would be around a 9-3 or 10-2 win. Marcos was able to get a way with a lot of borderline illegal shots, was allowed to rough up FLoyd and didn't receive any point deductions. I seriously doubt a rematch would have a similar outcome compared to their first fight.

And another thing you have to account for was all the low blows / dirty stuff from Maidana. I don't think the referee would take so kindly to that sort of foul play the next time around. But hey who knows this is boxing right? =D

    1,Maidana
    2,Mayweather
    3,Maidana
    4,Mayweather
5,Maidanna (his best round I think)
    6,Mayweather
    7Mayweather
    8Maidanna
    9Mayweather
    10 Mayweather
    11 Mayweather
    12 Mayweather

Some rounds where close especially in the beginning but at the later stages of the fight Floyd took over.

draw, 7-5, or 8-4 for Mayweather. I dont see Maidana winning 7 rounds. 1,5,8 are the only clear ones for Maidana.

Close fight? Cant decide? Then score it like this:

    Who was the better boxer?
Which boxer would have won if the fight went another 5 rounds?
Who do you think would win a rematch?

    Mayweather
    Mayweather
    Mayweather

As it happened, I gave Maidana 4 round MAX! Maybe 3.

I've watched it 3 times now

Then I have to ask you, how did you score the fight? Because just critizisizing my opinion of the fight without making a statement of how you thought of the fight makes you look lika a casual.

Remember now, fights are scored round by round ;)

114-114. There were times Floyd would gain huge, early leads in a round outlanding Maidana 6-7 punches landed then Maidana would wake up and regain the lead, and back and forth and so forth. I can understand this fight being won by either fighter by one point, I won't argue with that, but IMO I don't think Floyd did enough to win.

Maidana won by vicious knockout in the 12th after a complete shut out. Mayweather didn't land 1 clean jab the whole fight.

Duck weather, void is void, he lost to Castillio who was a journeyman, he was knocked down by Zab Judah, chicken weather.

Lol come on guys don't try and have a sensible discussion. People on here can't score fights they are just kids. I gave Maidana 5 at a push but definitely a clear 4 rounds.

I scored it for Mayweather, but wasn't impressed AT ALL! He looked like absolute ****, comparable, to how I've seen him look.

This is the first time ever, I'm even entertaining the thought of Khan or Pac beating him. He looked that bad.
