Consensus was that Maidana won about 5 and people at both ends of the extremes are those most likely biased observers :deal. So there you go. Question now is, does 115-113 necessitate a rematch or not. I don't know, really.
Be careful because if 8-4 is more reasonable than 7-5 then that's a clear enough victory that there's no point in a rematch.
Very well. I personally detected a serious malfunction with Al Bernstein and Paulie Malignaggi talkin about body shots when all Maidana did was swarming, holding, hitting on the back of the head and on top of the head clumsy clubbing shots, headbutting, tackling ( at the end of the 11th) and hitting on the soft spot without having been taken a point from Tony Weeks for any conceivable reason ( at least Louie Collazo fought dirty but at least Khan pushed his head down with his arm and elbow). On the other hand, Floyd, hit him plenty of times with str8 rights right on the kisser, left hooks, his own body shots, short uppercuts out of the ropes and definitely controlled the tempo of the fight after those 3 first rounds and was the ring general for the most part of the fight ( 2 thirds of the fight) 9 rounds to 3 for me. 114-114 is a scandal, on press-row 115-113 7 rounds to 5 is unbelievable, just one judge got it right. Just a very bad night, a brawl which makes us miss Marlon Starling, Donald Curry, Lloyd Honeyghan and even all those fights with Hoya, Quartey, Shane, Vargas and Forrest.
He knew when to use it (when May was coming at him trying to walk him down, instead of throwing it when May is baiting you for the pull-counter).
Rewatched 6 times now. 114-114, or 115-113 either way. Round 1, 2, 4, 5, 8 y 12 for Maidana. 3, 6, 7, 9, 10 y 11 Floyd. But there very closed rounds, such as 8 and 11 that can go either way. A fine card is Maidana 115-113, 115-113 Floyd is well.
Mate come on now, he didn't nearly land as much as the compubox thing would sugest. Almost all of his shots where gracing shots and sure he got in a few bodyshots. But almost all of the punches that where landed from Mayweather did infact land.
